what does the footer contain?

from http://www.wc3c.net/tools/specs/index.html:

"char[4]: footer sign ID (should be "NGIS" == 'sign' reversed)
byte[256]: 256 data bytes for authentification. I don't know how they are used at the moment."

The footer is optional in maps and mandatory in campaigns according to the same source.
