Do you have transcoding enabled?

Do you have transcoding enabled?

Yes I do but I don’t believe this video would’ve met the criteria for transcoding.

Oh. Just seeing this.

“HDR videos will always be transcoded” - then yes it would be subject to transcoding as I record in 1080p 60 FPS with HDR on

Is there a sample video you can post or if you can try on a different browser?

Happens in desktop chrome (will have to grab version, but should be latest) but not on mobile safari. I think the video likely has identifiable metadata (geolocation) so I'd rather not post publicly. Do you have somewhere else I can send it that's a bit more private?

Seems like possibly a chrome issue though....

@alextran1502 sorry meant to post back yesterday; I re-transcoded and all seems well now. I'm OK with closing unless you want to explore further?

Requesting this issue be re-opened, because I am seeing this as well, with v1.126.1 and uploads of portrait oriented videos from an iPhone 15 pro, 2160x3840, HEVC. No issues with landscape ones from the same device, but the two portrait orientation ones consistently get inverted. They are probably HDR, I'm not sure. Here is the Codec Details from VLC:

Here is a link to one of the videos that this is happening with, (52.8MB) from my cloud storage service.

If I choose "Refresh encoded videos" that does not help. @mike12806 is that what you meant by "re-transcoded", or did you do something else?

If I transcode it myself with Handbrake from the original .mov container to an h.264 .mp4 file, and replace with upload, then the orientation stays upright.
