I updated the plugin to only match drawn lines/polygons of a certain color. This allows an operator to continue to sketch out other features on the map that aren't necessarily part of the field itself.

Plans can be drawn in multiple colours for many reasons, so limiting cross-links to just one colour at a time is not a good idea.

A way of flagging specific lines/polygons in draw-tools would be better - but not sure of the ideal way of doing this. I'd been thinking about adding some line styles to draw tools - a few different dash patterns - but some might want these checked against blocking links..?

@jonatkins I think limiting to one color at a time is a better idea than the current state of affairs where it will match every single drawn line. We already have operators using this version of the plugin and it seems to address the core issue for now.

Agreed that more flexibility would be better, but until there is a good way of flagging individual drawn links/polygons or these additional draw styles are added I think this is a good update.

Additionally there could be multiple colors chosen for matching, which would be reasonably easy to add given the current functionality.

In short, I'm wondering if it's worth leaving this branch out in the cold because of theoretical improvements? I know a bunch of people already who'd love to just have this single enhancement available to them.

@jonatkins : Hi, I'm one of the aforementioned operators. I'm finding this modification extremely useful -- I'm able to "zone" particular parts of lanes for assignment, and view these zones without cross-links barfing all over it. Given that I'm running ~10 zones per lane, with multiple layers per lane, using a color exception is much less intensive for the user than individual selection.

I've also never had reason to draw lanes in multiple colors -- I'm trying to come up with a use case where I would, but I'm coming up blank. Anyhow, would love to see this added as I'm using it now and finding that it increases planning flexibility.

@jonatkins I think "zoning" is one reason to have this filter. So, by default it will us all colors then an user can "remove" colors they don't want to be used to check for cross links.

I just tried this mod and definitely see value even with this limited implementation. I regularly leave draw layers around for long term planning purposes and have to disable cross-links so they do not clutter up the map. With this I could simply use a different color for long-term plans, or specific ops. Would love to see included in IITC.
