Proposed change

  1. Adds SensorDeviceClass.TIMESTAMP for datetime characteristics, as requested in Statistics component typing #60997 (comment)

  2. Adds improved handling of different characteristics and the validation of the characteristic to source sensor combination. This was mainly driven by new characteristics in child branch Add additional characteristics to the statistics integration #62631
