Did Timm made a statement somewhere that he will take simplepush.io offline?

I asked him on Reddit a few days ago and got no response... In the past he was very responsive

I will write him an e-mail and ask if it's only temporary. As the app is no longer available in the store it looks like that the service as decommissioned.

Still no answer. I will write again and if we don't get a response then we should proceed with the removal.

Using the right e-mail address gets you an instant answer. This is the essence of Timm's response.

there was a bug that makes Simplepush unusable.
Unfortunately I don't have time at the moment to fix this bug.

Let's remove the platform and bring it back when the service is working again.

Breaking change:

The simplepush notification platform was removed. A bug which can't be fixed quickly prompted the team that is operating simplepush.io to shutdown the service.

Thanks for sharing the info. What ever this means... I only used it to push stuff from my browser to my phone but I will avoid such hobby projects in the future...

I use it a lot, and would like it to be re-added. The site may have been down, but the service has worked flawlessly for me (except a short glitch May 14th),

@c727 According to the Google Play store listing for SimplePush:

Simplepush is currently not available.
The servers will continue to run and exisiting users should be able to continue using the service.
There are plans to activate Simplepush again at a later point.

With that said when I upgrade my Home Assistant installation to 0.70.0 will I still be able to use Simplepush if it was already working inside of Home Assistant?
