App Crashing when attempting to edit bot #322

We have a beta tester that can create a bot but she can't edit them after they are created. She taps on Edit Bot and the app crashes to iPhone home screen. She reloads the app and gets the same result. She has a 6 Plus phone that was running iOS 9.1, I asked her to update to 10 and she did with the same result.

@mstidham Could you give me her username? @toland Could you find her userId/token so i could login under her account. Maybe we need some standard way to 'impersonate' users (cc @bengtan )

It was all of the bots. Once she created one she couldn't get into any of them without it crashing.

The uninstall/reinstall didn't correct the issue. The app still crashes when trying to edit bots. I asked her to add a new bot and see if she could edit it. She added a new bot and it crashed out when she tapped save on the location screen. She went back in to add it again and she was able to enter the location, name the bot and when she added a photo (was scrolling through images on the phone) it crashed again.

I have another beta tester that the app is crashing on.
This is what she states:
"The app kicks me off a lot. I will just be in the middle of playing around with it, or trying to create bots and it just kicks off and I have to go back into the app. Doesn't happen every time I do something, but quite a bit".

I had Shawnna B. delete app and reinstall and she said it hasn't helped. Still crashing after reinstall.

Ah perfect, thought a second adjustment had to be made for them to receive access. Confirming external users do indeed have access to 102. Pushing this ticket to QA.

Tonya just reported that it still crashes now after the 2nd save, but it did save the new note she added. I haven't heard back from Shawnna.

It seems this issue has not been resolved by the 1.16(102) release due to the fact that these users installed this version on Jan 13, 2017.

Shawnna has 1.16 (102) installed on Jan 13, 2017
Tonya has 1.16 (102) installed on Jan 13, 2017

I am also getting reports from external users that they are unable to install 1.16(102) and one of the same user was able to log on to the 1.20(105).

Punting on this per @thescurry. We're thinking of releasing the latest internal release to external users on Thursday (cc: @bengtan) and we'll diagnose from there.

'latest internal release' == most recent Production version (that is released to staff)?

Data point:

AFAIK, the latest Production release is 105. The latest Staging release is 106.

I haven't had any of these issues w/the staging release (which will eventually be pushed to prod), can I close this one @bengtan ?

Were you ever able to reproduce it on your phone?

If it was happening on your phone, and then the latest staging release fixed it for you, that would suggest it's been fixed.

If it never happened on your phone ... then I don't think you can draw the conclusion that it's been fixed.

Though it would also be good to hold onto this ticket until Shawna and Tonya get access to this release and see if the issue continues to occur.

Oh, I didn't know. That's a good sign then.

So we have three documented cases and one of those cases is a confirmed fix and the other two are unknown ...

Yep, close/mark this as fixed if you like.

(Otherwise, we'll wait for Shawna or Tonya.)

It might be a different crash.

Did it occur at the same point/time ie. when editing bots? Does the crash look the same?

It's not clear to me that they are the same crash (but I could be wrong).

Tonya is no longer crashing, the short time I was on Shawna's phone updating we never crashed. I believe this issue can be closed.
Shawna just notified me that she has been using app this afternoon with no crashing.
