Merged the other PR, it also had a test and I preferred keeping the old symbol for space |

NNBSP is used for punctuation in a few languages, such as french, among other things.
I struggled to find a good default character to render it, but in the end I propose using
·. Since it was already used for the space, I suggest␣which has the benefit of being a more “standard” space symbol.
