Description

There is currently support for creating azure databricks workspaces using the azurerm_databricks_workspace resource, but there is no way to reference them as a data source. A data source for databricks workspaces would enable these resources to be leveraged by Terraform templates that do not create the workspace.

New Data Source

  • data azurerm_databricks_workspace

Potential Terraform Configuration

data "azurerm_databricks_workspace" "example" {
  name                = "myworkspace"
  resource_group_name = "some-resource-group"
}

output "workspace_url" {
  value = data.azurerm_databricks_workspace.example.workspace_url
}
output "workspace_id" {
  value = data.azurerm_databricks_workspace.example.workspace_id
}

Exports:

  • Resource Id
  • Workspace Url
  • Workspace Id
  • Managed Resource Group Id
  • Etc.

References

See existing azurerm_databricks_workspace resource documentation.

This has been released in version 2.29.0 of the provider. Please see the Terraform documentation on provider versioning or reach out if you need any assistance upgrading. As an example:

provider "azurerm" {
    version = "~> 2.29.0"
}
# ... other configuration ...
