3D visualizations missing
MotiQ 3D fails to produce a 3D visualization and reports this as as Notification in the progress dialog (e.g., Tasks 1/10: No 3D visualization generated - an error occured: ...
).
Unfortunately, in particular when running MotiQ 3D Analyzer on Mac operating systems, it often occurs that the generation of 3D visualization fails. This error does (almost) never occur on Windows or Linux operating systems. Yet, I could not find a solution for this problem and a way to fix it - it is related to the way Mac OS handles MotiQ generating 3D visualizations on the GPU. It appears that Mac OS sometimes delays or blocks the rendering of the 3D visualization. The consequence is that some 3D renderings of the cell(s), skeleton(s), or convex hull(s) are not generated and will be missing among the output files. It however does not affect any other results so an analysis missing 3D files is still fully valid and all parameters are determined correctly.
Either just live without the 3D files (since all other output 3D files are valid and the same as if 3D renderings were produced) or run the analysis on a Windows or Linux machine.
