What is the best way to make a texture animation in osgEarth?

Hello everybody!
I need to play a global satellite image animation in osgEarth. The animation should be 2~5 seconds per frame. A typical frame count of an animation is about 30. Each frame of global satellite image is about 100MB in COG GeoTIFF format ( pixel format: RGB ). My question is which of the following is the best way to make this animation function?
(1) Having 30 layers of GDALImageLayer, each layer load one image, and make one of them visible in sequence.
(2) Having one custom layer which load all images into textures, change texture by customized fragment shader in sequence.
(3) Other ways I don't know...
