Summary

Design note for fact provenance (DESIGN §3 fact-home): where a modeled fact lives and whether it is in the right kind of position — explicitly not permission-to-act (std.access).

This PR delivers specimen record + step-2 live censuses only. No hub, no construction wall, no no-growth frontier. Step 3 (shared construction per class) is operator-sequenced after census adjudication.

Specimens (relation kinds)

label kind
CIT-0 duplicate fact-home, unjoined (CitedResource.authority vs Pin.expected_identity)
CIT-1 observation-required (authored digest as its own expectation; fixture vs evidence)
QM derivation-only (proof-shaped receipt mintable from raw counts)
SCAFFOLD identity join (substring / arity / fixture name vs exact variant identity)
HOMONYM / CENSUS mandate-layer: wrong subject; census without population/method
BOUNDARY interior cause flattened at public entry (CIT-0 pin subject, QM constructor, URI encoder collapse)

Closed PR lanes (#7789 withdrawn stub deleted — never on main).

Step-2 census outcomes (classes not decided — candidates retired or open)

  • Readiness (*Readiness names): retired at step 2 — no shared axis; ten domain verdict types; ProviderReadiness homonym is same extdeps type reused in claim evidence, not two axes.
  • Fold concat(<binder>, [x]): retired from AUTH-0 — DESIGN §6 cost-shape class, not fact provenance. Text-pattern floor 204 sites (concat(acc, [ = 117, 57% — binder-name undercount; PR Rich PDF citation anchors #7779 CENSUS specimen). Structural population = Node-tree fold property — typed gap; instrument = list_concat_items_copied (interpreter realization; emitted Rust im::Vector O(log n) concat).
  • Weak digest NonEmptyStr: open — 10 sites / 5 modules; per-site partition candidates in note; not one class.

Every census row states population · revision · method · maximum conclusion.

  • dag/gunbc/plans/fact_provenance_topology.dag — bind carrier

Map the layered authorization relations (containment, cited extdeps models,
claim evidence, principal projection, profiles, and the std.access kernel) so
AUTH-1+ lanes can cite one topology authority instead of re-deriving the stack.

Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
The first draft wrongly mapped the access kernel. This revision names
four orthogonal authority-relation kinds (coauthority, observation,
derivation, identity) with discharge evidence, ladder rungs, and
derived census measurements — design-note only, no code.

Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
The replacement fact-provenance note is on this branch; it was never
part of the closed PR.

Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Operator sign-off incorporated: reconciled concat counts, Readiness
kind/arms/interchangeability per name, digest per-site claims, verified
list concat copy semantics. Step-3 questions removed; no hub/construction.

Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Distinguish interpreter (std::vec::Vec, quadratic folds) from emitted
Rust (im::Vector, O(log n) concat). Cite list_concat_items_copied as
the measurement instrument; population count only in AUTH-0.

Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Record grep-the-name failure: acc-only pattern 117/204 sites;
PR #7779 acceptance claim; structural Node-tree population as typed
gap. Census rows carry population, revision, method, max conclusion.

Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Remove session/PR location clause that went stale on open — a design
note should not carry facts with a short half-life in its header.

Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Discharge rows now name origin/session/* branches and grep-verifiable
module/symbol pairs; reconcile *Readiness population to 9 matching table rows.

Addressed review 48039 in 566d1e8.

Finding 1 — CIT-0 fabricated symbol: Confirmed on main alone: no std.citation / citation_cit0_note. Verified on origin/session/cit-0 (git grep citation_cit0_note origin/session/cit-0 → dag/std/citation.dag). Specimen table now cites origin/session/cit-0 + module + symbol; pin_subject_must_not_be_self_identifying_note called out as on main.

Finding 2 — QM fabricated symbol/commit: Confirmed c200375c0c6 is not on main but is on origin/session/fierce-lynx-76 (tip commit "WIP: QM"). path_additivity_witness_observed_vs_prediction lives in dag/gunbc/physics/bach_double_slit_path_additivity.dag on that branch. Row updated to branch + commit + module + symbol (not implied grep-verifiable on main).

Finding 3 — Readiness 10 vs 9: Confirmed — nine domain verdict rows after dropping generic std.claim_evidence machinery per the stated rg filter. Population, step-2 summary, and step-3 verdict all say 9 now; population field documents the filter explicitly.

Specimen-table discipline: Added standing note that discharge symbols are on closed specimen branches; verify with git grep <symbol> origin/session/<lane>. SCAFFOLD row now also names origin/session/royal-boar-448 (commit ec85b225782 is git-verifiable via git grep scaffold_disposition_sites_live ec85b225782).

§2.2 CitationRetrievalObservation qualified as origin/session/cit-1 specimen pattern.

Drop unfetchable short commit hashes; SCAFFOLD cites
derived_scaffold_disposition_sites on royal-boar tip; CENSUS cites
verifiable concat sites on PR #7779 head (wires and acc binders).

Addressed review 48048.

QM (finding 1): Agreed that bare c200375c0c6 is not a fetchable remote ref (git fetch origin c200375c0c6 → not found). The symbol is on the branch tip after the normal fetch: git fetch origin session/fierce-lynx-76 && git grep path_additivity_witness_observed_vs_prediction origin/session/fierce-lynx-76 -- dag/gunbc/physics/bach_double_slit_path_additivity.dag. Row now cites branch ref + module + symbol only (commit hash removed). §1 verification note updated: branch ref + symbol, not short SHA.

CENSUS (finding 2): Partially right — concat(wires, [wire]) is not on main (file absent). On PR #7779 head it is present (git grep 'concat(wires, \[wire\])' review/pr-7779 -- dag/extdeps/standards/rfc_8118.dag). The bc2f2185 snapshot the review checked uses concat(acc, [parameter]) in the same file; both binders illustrate v1 under-selection. §0.1 and §5.3 now cite PR #7779 head explicitly with both spellings.

SCAFFOLD (finding 3): Agreed — scaffold_disposition_sites_live is gone from origin/session/royal-boar-448 tip; live symbol is derived_scaffold_disposition_sites (gunbc.scaffold_retirement). Specimen row and §5.3 structural precedent updated.
