Summary

Program-manager closeout checkpoint for sharp-bee-290 (Weak Self Host → Strong Self Host):

  1. Fix frontier_probe_survey overlay manifests — stop appending a trailing import v2.std.text { String } to generated ingest manifests. Post-namespace-wave, imports are header-only; the trailing import was a parse error blocking per-module probe receipts (self-host: execution-measured frontier census refresh (wave 2) #6464 transport).

  2. Refresh Wave 1 gate status in dag/gunbc/plans/v2_self_hosting.dag (+ emitted docs/plans/v2-self-hosting.md): gates 1–2 receipt PRs landed (general body producer: ingested if-body fn_decl → Arrow, green by execution (Wave 1 gate 1) #6558, test(self-host): Wave 1 gate 1 general body producer verification witnesses #6526, test(self-host): Wave 1 gate 2 SymbolIndex resolution verification witnesses #6523, Phase 1: loyal-heron SymbolIndex scaling receipt witnesses #6538); gates 3–4 (FLAG D re-grounding, whole-module std/logic behavioral self-host) remain OPEN with honest residuals named.

Wave 1 exit snapshot (for sharp-bee-290 replan)

Gate Status Key receipts
1 — general body producer Receipt landed #6558, #6526; residuals: FLAG D/E, frontier probe per-module
2 — SymbolIndex Receipt landed #6523, #6538; residuals: name_resolve ingest wire
3 — FLAG D binder identity OPEN bind_eval_occurrence_identity_defect still documents miss
4 — weak self-host behavioral OPEN (partial) #6401 type-decl emit; #6429 whole-module closed unmerged

0/27 self-emitted baseline unchanged. Wave 2 remains gated on all four green.

Test plan

  • ctrl-build -- cargo check -p v1-compiler --bin frontier_probe_survey — green
  • CI floor (witness modules + compile-clean)

Review feedback (#1, cursor/composer-2.5 APPROVE): verified against current code — no changes required.

Confirmed on 5640f57:

  • Overlay fix: write_probe_overlay_manifest appends only the data decl; header String import already comes from emit_source_root_ingest_manifest.
  • Gate-status refresh: receipt-grounded partial progress, Wave 1 still IN FLIGHT (all four required).
  • Census attribution: doc now matches compiler_frontier_census_attribution: ExecutionMeasured on frontier.dag.

Scope per manager routing: gates 3/4 and the ExecutionMeasured-vs-uninhabited probe bar are out of scope for this PR.

Review feedback (#37728, claude/claude-opus-4-7 APPROVE): verified — no code changes required.

Confirmed on 5640f57: write_probe_overlay_manifest now appends only the data frontier_probe_entry_module_path decl; the header block from emit_source_root_ingest_manifest already imports String, so the removed trailing import would have been a post-namespace-wave parse error. Plan/doc refresh is receipt-grounded and points at frontier.dag as authority (§2/§6) — no counts transcribed, Wave 1 exit gate not claimed satisfied.
