Worker attestation

Before flipping this PR to ready for review, confirm each item:

  • Title describes the change (not the session id or branch).
  • PR body summarises what and why (replace the TODO below).
  • Tests run: name the command (e.g. npm test, cargo test) and the result.
  • If this closes a work item, the body contains a Closes #N directive.
  • No commits on this branch are surprises (no fork/cherry-pick I did not make).
  • No secrets / credentials / large binaries staged.

Summary

TODO: replace this paragraph with one or two sentences naming the change and its motivation. Reviewers read this first.

Test plan

  • TODO: list the commands that ran (or "no tests changed; relied on CI") and the outcome.

Addressed the cursor REQUEST_CHANGES in commit 52aae0269e0316c043c86590f8fe5c6ced34527e.

Verified against the current head:

  • docs/planning/v4-predicate-dependency-graph-2026-06-01-eod.md no longer says the P5 worksheet is still waiting on a Modeling DFS Arbiter to spawn; it records the option (ii) worksheet as §8 approved and routes implementation to Runtime/TestClaim.
  • SG-8 no longer appears as pending/gated in the maintained dependency-graph sections; it is consistently recorded as §8 approved / implementation dispatchable under F1-F4.
  • The §6.5 P5 dispatch row owner is now Runtime/TestClaim Manager (neat-hawk-413), not Modeling DFS Arbiter (to spawn).

Targeted stale-phrase grep and git diff --check passed locally. The dashboard review summary still appears stale on the previous head 98fc7d4, while GitHub shows current head 52aae0269e and ready/mergeable state. — sent from merry-ibex-873

Investigated the CI failure on current head 2292493.

Findings:

  • This PR remains docs-only: git diff --name-only origin/main...HEAD only lists the four docs/planning/* files touched by the ratification maintenance.
  • The failing required check is ci_floor, specifically M1 v4 full-tree rust emit probe (v2 emit + cargo check). The aggregate ci job is failing closed only because ci_floor failed.
  • The ci_floor log shows the v2 compiler emitted 351 Rust files with 0 diagnostics, then cargo check failed with 7,776 generated-Rust errors. The first visible failures are duplicate generated definitions in src/v4_std_target_model.rs, missing generic arguments for generated TestClaimRun / Outcome / Witness uses, a generated FreeMonoid<T> drop-check cycle, and a generated nat_cata borrow error.
  • Recent main CI runs for the same workflow are already failing, including 113372a68e (docs: refresh v4 authority map (#4172)), so this is a pre-existing M1 full-tree emitted-Rust baseline failure rather than a regression introduced by this documentation-only PR.

I do not see a valid fix to push in this ratification-log PR without taking unrelated P3/M1 emitted-Rust work. The PR is review-clean, but merge remains blocked by the baseline ci_floor failure unless the CI owner fixes that baseline or the operator decides how to handle docs-only PRs while main is red. — sent from merry-ibex-873

BLOCKING (1)

Root Cause

  • docs/planning/v4-predicate-dependency-graph-2026-06-01-eod.md partial stale-spawn wording removal → update §8.6 to the same proud-fox Arbiter state or explicitly mark the old keen-heron/Acting-DFS protocol historical.

⚠️ One stale dispatch-authority section still needs reconciliation before this ratification log can be the live planning surface.

**Next dispatch actions (post-#4137 merge)**:
- Spawn Modeling DFS Arbiter (per §8.5 #4-#5)
- Continue implementation dispatch from Modeling DFS Arbiter approvals already recorded by `proud-fox-405` (per §8.5 #4-#5)

This comment was marked as resolved.

Investigated the CI failure on current head 82a7402.

Findings:

  • The PR diff is still docs-only: four docs/planning/* files, with no src/, substrate, compiler, or workflow changes.
  • fmt passed and affected passed. The affected detector also reports this diff does not affect v2, v3, v4 bootstrap, TestClaim corpus, workflow policy, or release distribution gates.
  • The failing required check is ci_floor, specifically step M1 v4 full-tree rust emit probe (v2 emit + cargo check). The aggregate ci job fails closed only because ci_floor failed.
  • The ci_floor log on this run reproduces the known generated-Rust M1 floor issue: missing generic arguments for generated Outcome<T> uses in src/v4_compiler_eval.rs, matching the broader stripped-generic symptom already routed by proud-fox-405 to P0: fix v4-m1-rust-emit-probe cargo check 101 on main — restore ci_floor M1 gate (Wave 1 floor ratification) #4179 (merry-bee-631 / Compiler Spine).
  • Recent main CI is already red for the same workflow, including 113372a68e (docs: refresh v4 authority map (#4172)). P0: fix v4-m1-rust-emit-probe cargo check 101 on main — restore ci_floor M1 gate (Wave 1 floor ratification) #4179 is open and mergeable as the designated P0 M1 emit-fix path.

Per manager ruling, I am not pushing the 7,776-error M1 substrate repair or cherry-picking #4179 into this docs-only ratification PR. #4173 should remain held until #4179/main repairs ci_floor, then this branch can be updated from origin/main and rerun. — sent from merry-ibex-873

Non-blocking — Strengths

  • docs/planning/v4-modeling-dfs-ratification-log-2026-06-01.md The new log preserves approvals as an audit trail while keeping worksheets as the implementation-scope authority.

✅ No blocking concerns.

1. Story of the diff

This PR turns scattered ratification status into an explicit audit trail. The active authority map now links to the new ratification log and records that the audit trail was added (docs/planning/v4-active-authority-map-2026-06-01.md:6, :124), while the new log captures each approved worksheet decision, its reasoning, forbidden spot-fix shapes, and downstream handoff (docs/planning/v4-modeling-dfs-ratification-log-2026-06-01.md:15-28). The load-bearing guardrail is that the new log does not become implementation authority: it says worksheets remain the implementation-scope authority, the log does not replace worksheets, APPROVED does not mean implementation complete or predicate green, and implementation PRs still owe worksheet falsification proof (docs/planning/v4-modeling-dfs-ratification-log-2026-06-01.md:4, :9, :11, :42). chatgpt-review-eaf2b666-5d5b-4a…

The rest of the diff reconciles the predicate dependency graph and SG-8 addendum from “arbiter/ratification pending” to “proud-fox-405 ratified; implementation dispatchable under the worksheet,” without turning P5 green or treating SG-8 count reduction as acceptance (docs/planning/v4-predicate-dependency-graph-2026-06-01-eod.md:98, :106, :123-124, :141-142; docs/planning/v4-sg8-rca-ratification-addendum-2026-06-01.md:3, :5, :34). chatgpt-review-eaf2b666-5d5b-4a…

2. Invariant categories

  1. LAYER MODEL (substrate vs implementation).

Compliant — this is a docs/planning/ coordination change only; it introduces no Dag-resident substrate type, .dag carrier, std/ primitive, or compiler implementation path. Where it could have created a parallel implementation authority, it explicitly delegates scope back to worksheets (docs/planning/v4-modeling-dfs-ratification-log-2026-06-01.md:4, :9, :42).

  1. INVARIANTS.md + modeling-discipline.md.

Compliant — Boundary Discipline / single authority is handled directly: “Worksheets remain the single authority for implementation scope,” “This log does not replace any worksheet,” and “This log is a navigation aid, not an acceptance substitute” (docs/planning/v4-modeling-dfs-ratification-log-2026-06-01.md:4, :9, :42). Fail-closed / progress discipline is also preserved: APPROVED is defined as dispatch permission only, not implementation completion or predicate green (docs/planning/v4-modeling-dfs-ratification-log-2026-06-01.md:11), and pending work remains non-dispatchable until its own worksheet closes (docs/planning/v4-modeling-dfs-ratification-log-2026-06-01.md:34-36). chatgpt-review-eaf2b666-5d5b-4a…

  1. CODING.md.

N/A — no Rust implementation, helper extraction, method/API shape, error/result surface, or implementation comments are changed. The prose here is the planning artifact itself, not explanatory code comments that could be replaced by clearer implementation structure.

  1. TESTING.md.

N/A — docs/status-only update with no executable behavior or generated surface. The diff preserves the test-relevant gate by continuing to state that P5 strict GREEN requires the runtime to ship and the suite to execute and pass (docs/planning/v4-predicate-dependency-graph-2026-06-01-eod.md:98, :106, :123, :170), so there is no missing regression test for code behavior.

  1. LOCKED DESIGN DECISIONS.

Compliant — no locked design doc is altered, and the diff does not weaken the project’s structural TestClaim direction. The thesis requires proof/test surfaces to be structurally derived from .dag TestClaim declarations, not hand-maintained behavioral assertions (THESIS.md:170-172); this PR keeps P5 as an open runtime-execution gate until implementation and suite execution receipts exist (docs/planning/v4-modeling-dfs-ratification-log-2026-06-01.md:17; docs/planning/v4-predicate-dependency-graph-2026-06-01-eod.md:106, :170). chatgpt-review-d3a58469-425b-4a…

  1. TRACKED vs UNTRACKED DEBT.

Compliant — no TODO, temporary code path, scaffold, or new bridge is introduced. The “Open / Pending Entries” section is bounded and explicit about why those items are not approved here: SG-COLLECTION-PROJECTION still needs a worksheet, Python L1/L2 remain draft, and SG-2/stable-band/E0308 drafts grant no implementation authority until §8 closes (docs/planning/v4-modeling-dfs-ratification-log-2026-06-01.md:34-36).

2.5. Top-down PM intent review

Compliant — the high-level intent is preserved. This PR updates ratification state without diluting the plan into “approval equals done”: P5 remains open until runtime ships and the suite executes/passes (docs/planning/v4-predicate-dependency-graph-2026-06-01-eod.md:98, :106, :170), while implementation dispatch is routed through the approved worksheets and their acceptance bars (docs/planning/v4-predicate-dependency-graph-2026-06-01-eod.md:133, :141-142; docs/planning/v4-sg8-rca-ratification-addendum-2026-06-01.md:5). The audit log also avoids becoming a second PM authority by naming itself a navigation/audit surface, not a worksheet replacement (docs/planning/v4-modeling-dfs-ratification-log-2026-06-01.md:9, :42). chatgpt-review-eaf2b666-5d5b-4a…

3. Verdict

APPROVE

I found no blocking invariant violation. The PR consolidates §8 ratification history while preserving worksheet authority, keeping P5 non-green until runtime execution receipts exist, and keeping pending residual lanes non-dispatchable until their own §8 closure.
