Summary

Authors §1.8 closure-authority ledger row #96 for the newly-ratified V7 ValueBody isomorphism gate.

  • Working gate name: `value_body_substrate_mirror_isomorphism_executable`
  • Lane: T-V-L4-L7-Direct (Verification cross-program with Substrate)
  • Type: substrate-shape (Pattern-A-adjacent mirror parity)
  • Co-ownership: Substrate (carrier/mirror authority) + Verification (harness/conformance test)

Authority chain

  • Q-ValueBody-Isomorphism RATIFIED at gunbc#828 #issuecomment-4403972737 (Director, 2026-05-08)

  • Mechanical §1.8 enumeration ask from Verification Mgr at gunbc#2075 #issuecomment-4403991524 (PM authority per §1.8 enumeration discipline + Director's note at session/zesty-bear-812 · gunbc Director #828 §"§1.8 gate # assignment")
  • Substantive content lives at `docs/briefs/r3-v-valuebody-substrate-mirror-isomorphism-v1-worker.md` (pre-authored 2026-05-07)

Changes

  • §1.5 closure-ledger total: 95 → 96 gates; 92 → 93 R3 thesis-load-bearing
  • §1.5 lane breakdown: T-V-L4-L7-Direct 6 → 7 (+ ValueBody isomorphism); 79 → 80 lane gates
  • §1.8 row Blue team tasks execution #96 added with full Pass-condition body
  • §10.3 Q-ValueBody-Isomorphism row: OPEN → RATIFIED 2026-05-08 with §1.8 Blue team tasks execution #96 cross-link
  • 4 additional 95→96 references updated (DECLARE count, single canonical view, Q1 ratification, two-Pass-surfaces clarification)

Carved-gate hygiene

Existing R4 carves (#81 `parallelism_lens_behaviorally_complete` / #82 `effect_enumeration_lens_behaviorally_complete` / #95 `opt_in_iteration_parallelism_via_lens_application_demonstrated`) STAY carved per prior structural ratifications. Brian's "no R4 carves as of now" directive is forward-looking, not retroactive.

Test plan

  • Reviewer verifies §1.5 lane-count math (T-V-L4-L7-Direct = 7; total = 80 lane + 16 = 96)
  • Reviewer confirms §1.8 row Blue team tasks execution #96 Pass-condition body matches brief §Closure predicate
  • Reviewer confirms §10.3 Q-ValueBody-Isomorphism transition OPEN → RATIFIED is consistent with Director ratification + Brian sanction citations

Findings

  • docs/r3-program-plan.md:81 — The §1.5 paragraph states 96 gate IDs are “enumerated at this commit per r3-structure.md §Acceptance.” At HEAD, docs/r3-structure.md §“Acceptance — .dag gates” still lists T-Verification-L4-L7-Direct through rust_dag_isomorphism_executable only (lines 77–83) and does not include value_body_substrate_mirror_isomorphism_executable. That makes this sentence inaccurate and splits authority relative to the plan’s own rule at docs/r3-program-plan.md:302 (“Authoritative source per gate: r3-structure.md §Acceptance carries the Pass-condition body”). INVARIANTS P2 (Boundary Discipline — single authoritative place for each fact).

  • docs/r3-program-plan.md:95 — The bullet was updated to “96 enumerated; 93 load-bearing”, but the next sentence (docs/r3-program-plan.md:98, unchanged) still says “92 R3-load-bearing gates green.” After the bump to 93, that sentence is internally inconsistent in the same subsection. Same P2 concern (consistent enumeration narrative).

Verdict: REQUEST_CHANGES — tighten single-authority wording vs r3-structure.md (or add the gate there in the same change), and align the 92 vs 93 sentence with the updated bullet so the closure arithmetic reads one way throughout §1.6.

1. Story of the diff

This PR updates docs/r3-program-plan.md to incorporate the ratified Q-ValueBody-Isomorphism decision into the R3 close contract. The main mechanism is count/ledger propagation: the top-level R3 close condition moves from 95 to 96 total gates and from 92 to 93 R3-load-bearing gates at docs/r3-program-plan.md:8, docs/r3-program-plan.md:84, and docs/r3-program-plan.md:95. The load-bearing new row is gate #96, value_body_substrate_mirror_isomorphism_executable, added to the canonical §1.8 table as a DECLARED substrate-shape gate with Substrate/Verification co-ownership and a fail-closed conformance expectation at docs/r3-program-plan.md:295. The PR also ratifies the previously open Q-ValueBody-Isomorphism question into the §10 decision table at docs/r3-program-plan.md:1006.

The intended shape is correct: this PR does not claim the check is implemented; it declares the gate and keeps R3 close dependent on future CONSUMER_LANDED verification (docs/r3-program-plan.md:109, docs/r3-program-plan.md:121). There is one count-propagation miss in the same section, though: one sentence still says “92 R3-load-bearing gates green” after the PR changes the surrounding contract to 93.

2. Invariant categories

  1. LAYER MODEL (substrate vs implementation).

N/A — document-only change; it references a substrate-shape closure gate but does not add or alter Dag/substrate types, fields, variants, or Rust implementation surfaces.

  1. INVARIANTS.md + modeling-discipline.md.

Finding — P2 Boundary Discipline / single-authority metadata / facts flow forward. docs/r3-program-plan.md:95 now says “96 enumerated; 93 load-bearing,” but docs/r3-program-plan.md:98 still says: Both must hold for R3 close. "**92** R3-load-bearing gates green" .... That leaves two authoritative counts in the same §1 close-contract explanation. Since this PR’s purpose is to move the ledger to 96/93, the stale 92 should be updated to 93 so the close predicate remains mechanically unambiguous.

  1. CODING.md.

N/A — no Rust code, helpers, methods, result shapes, naming surfaces, or implementation-style changes appear in the diff.

  1. TESTING.md.

Compliant — no test is required for this declaration-only PR because the diff explicitly keeps the new gate non-satisfied: docs/r3-program-plan.md:109 says the 96 gates are declarations only and not verified at HEAD, and docs/r3-program-plan.md:295 marks #96 as DECLARED rather than GREEN/consumer-landed.

  1. LOCKED DESIGN DECISIONS.

Compliant — the PR does not silently diverge from the ratified/locked direction; it records Q-ValueBody-Isomorphism as RATIFIED 2026-05-08 with named sanction/ratification sources and ownership at docs/r3-program-plan.md:1006, then enumerates the corresponding #96 gate at docs/r3-program-plan.md:295.

  1. TRACKED vs UNTRACKED DEBT.

Compliant — the new gate is staged as tracked work, not hidden debt: docs/r3-program-plan.md:295 names the status (DECLARED), bounded mechanisms for future conformance (build-time enum walk / boot-time structural check / .dag TestClaim / build.rs check), fail-closed skew behavior, and co-owners. docs/r3-program-plan.md:121 also keeps the dissolution trigger explicit: R3 close requires CONSUMER_LANDED for all load-bearing gates.

3. Verdict

REQUEST_CHANGES

The shape of the new #96 gate is sound and honestly staged, but the stale 92 at docs/r3-program-plan.md:98 contradicts the newly updated 93-load-bearing count in the same close-contract section. This is a small edit, but it is load-bearing for the PR’s single-authority ledger purpose.

…92→93 hygiene

Per cursor/composer-2 review on PR #2217:

Finding 1 (single-authority): §1.5 paragraph claimed "96 gate IDs enumerated per
r3-structure.md §Acceptance" but the structure doc didn't actually list the new
gate. Adding value_body_substrate_mirror_isomorphism_executable to §"Acceptance"
T-Verification-L4-L7-Direct lane restores single-authority discipline (P2).

Finding 2 (internal consistency): §1.6 line 95 was updated to "96 enumerated; 93
load-bearing" but line 98 still said "92 R3-load-bearing gates green". Aligning
the second sentence to 93 so closure arithmetic reads one way throughout §1.6.

openai-pro finding already addressed in fix commit 7406323b5

Both review findings (cursor/composer-2 + openai-pro) converged on the same 92 → 93 line-98 hygiene gap. Fix already pushed before this review landed.

Timeline:

  • 06:29Z: PR opened at sha 070e1b24 (original)
  • 06:32Z: cursor/composer-2 review surfaced 2 findings (single-authority + 92→93)
  • 06:33Z (~): fix commit 7406323b5 pushed addressing both
  • 06:35Z: openai-pro review (this comment) — generated against 070e1b24, surfaces the same 92→93 finding

Verification at branch HEAD 7406323b5:

  • docs/r3-program-plan.md:98 now reads "**93** R3-load-bearing gates green" (was 92) — see commit 7406323b5
  • Same fix commit also addressed cursor/composer-2's finding 1 (single-authority): added value_body_substrate_mirror_isomorphism_executable to docs/r3-structure.md §Acceptance T-Verification-L4-L7-Direct lane

No further action needed — both findings closed by 7406323b5. CI re-running on the fix commit.

BLOCKING (1)

Root Cause

  • docs/r3-program-plan.md ValueBody mirror drift is being converted into a gate before the single-authority producer path is named as part of the pass condition → require generated isomorphism/DagShapeReport consumption or generated mirror authority, and rule out bespoke hand-maintained expectation lists.

ROADMAP — Incomplete

  • ValueBody Rust/.dag mirror drift: The PR correctly pulls the issue into R3 scope, but the executable/generated conformance route still needs to be made load-bearing in the gate text.

⚠️ One gate-shape issue needs tightening before this can safely land.

Verdict: APPROVE

Diff is narrow and internally consistent. I did not find a concrete violation of the pinned rubric docs in the changed lines: the PR adds value_body_substrate_mirror_isomorphism_executable to the canonical acceptance list in docs/r3-structure.md and updates the dependent gate totals and load-bearing counts in docs/r3-program-plan.md, docs/r3-program-plan.md, docs/r3-program-plan.md, docs/r3-program-plan.md, and docs/r3-program-plan.md without leaving a conflicting parallel count behind. This looks clean.

…somorphism

Per BLOCKING inline finding from openai-pro at PR #2217 docs/r3-program-plan.md:295:
"new ValueBody gate leaves the conformance mechanism to Mgr discretion instead of
binding it to the generated DagShapeReport/BinaryDimensionReportEquals or generation
path tracked for this mirror drift, so a hand-maintained check could satisfy the
gate while preserving the P2/P5 parallel-authority risk."

Finding valid. Original row's "mechanism Mgr-discretion" framing left room for a
hand-maintained TestClaim enumerating variants — itself a parallel authority,
defeating the gate's purpose.

Brief at docs/briefs/r3-v-valuebody-substrate-mirror-isomorphism-v1-worker.md
already cites feedback_isomorphism_or_generation_for_mirrors + INVARIANTS §P1
(generation-or-isomorphism, NOT hand-maintained); §1.8 row needs to reflect this
constraint structurally so the gate auditor can reject hand-maintained satisfaction.

Edits to both r3-program-plan.md §1.8 #96 row + r3-structure.md §Acceptance #96 entry:
- Explicit gate-satisfaction discipline citation (feedback_isomorphism_or_generation_for_mirrors + P1)
- Hand-maintained TestClaim explicitly marked structurally inadmissible
- 4 bounded mechanisms reframed as "structural-derivation-from-single-authority"
(enum walk over canonical type def; structural check / TestClaim over canonical
shape projection; build.rs reading canonical generation source) — all derive,
  none hand-maintain
- Cross-link to existing Lens<DagShapeReport> + BinaryDimensionReportEquals predicates
  (gate #14 / rust_dag_isomorphism_executable) as the structural-isomorphism path

Codex BLOCKING already addressed in fix commit `786083a18`

Codex review at sha `7406323b` surfaced the same root finding as openai-pro's earlier inline BLOCKING (which I addressed pre-codex-arrival). Both reviews converged on:

generated isomorphism/DagShapeReport consumption or generated mirror authority, and rule out bespoke hand-maintained expectation lists

Fix already pushed at `786083a18` (current branch HEAD). Three structural changes in §1.8 #96 row + §Acceptance #96 entry (both docs):

  1. Generated isomorphism/DagShapeReport consumption — explicit cite: "structural-isomorphism check via existing predicates such as `Lens` + `BinaryDimensionReportEquals` post-shape-report producers per gate Implement proof obligation model for test generation #14"
  2. Generated mirror authority — "generation from single authority" path explicit; bounded mechanisms (enum walk over canonical type def / structural check / TestClaim over canonical shape projection / build.rs reading canonical generation source) all reframed as structural-derivation-from-single-authority
  3. Rule out hand-maintained expectation lists — "hand-maintained TestClaim that enumerates variants is structurally inadmissible — would itself constitute parallel authority"

Discipline citations also added: `feedback_isomorphism_or_generation_for_mirrors` + INVARIANTS §P1 (single-authority).

Timeline:

  • 06:32Z: cursor/composer-2 review (2 findings — both fixed by `7406323b5`)
  • 06:35Z: openai-pro review (1 finding — overlap with cursor finding 2; addressed by `7406323b5`)
  • 06:46Z: openai-pro inline BLOCKING (gate-shape Mgr-discretion → parallel-authority risk; fixed by `786083a18`)
  • 06:46Z (~): codex BLOCKING (this comment) — same root as openai-pro inline; addressed by `786083a18`

No further action needed — gate-shape finding closed at HEAD. CI re-running.

1. Story of the diff

This PR turns the previously open Q-ValueBody-Isomorphism risk into an explicit R3 closure obligation. The plan updates the R3 closure math from 95 total gates / 92 load-bearing gates to 96 total / 93 load-bearing, adds ledger row #96 for value_body_substrate_mirror_isomorphism_executable, and keeps it honestly staged as DECLARED, not already consumer-landed (docs/r3-program-plan.md:295). The matching r3-structure.md acceptance line gives the gate its operational contract: Rust ValueBody and the substrate .dag mirror must be checked by a CI-visible conformance mechanism, fail-closed on variant or shape skew, with Substrate and Verification co-owning the work (docs/r3-structure.md:84). The PR also updates the §10.3 question row from OPEN to RATIFIED so the new gate has a recorded R3 owner path rather than remaining an untracked mirror-risk question (docs/r3-program-plan.md:1006).

2. Invariant categories

  1. LAYER MODEL (substrate vs implementation).

Compliant — this is docs-only and does not mutate Dag, substrate .dag files, or Rust substrate carriers; the new closure row is explicitly a predicate over the existing Rust ValueBody ↔ substrate mirror and requires “fail-closed on variant/shape skew” rather than adding a second live representation (docs/r3-program-plan.md:295, docs/r3-structure.md:84).

  1. INVARIANTS.md + modeling-discipline.md.

Finding — NON-BLOCKING, P2 Boundary Discipline / single-authority metadata. docs/r3-program-plan.md:765 still says the Q1 summary includes “5 NEW Pattern-A executable … + 1 NEW ValueBody isomorphism,” but the same diff’s §1.5 count says T-V-L4-L7-Direct is “2 + 4 NEW Pattern-A executable + 1 ValueBody isomorphism = 7” (docs/r3-program-plan.md:84). That leaves a stale second subcount/naming authority for the same closure-gate set. I would change the Q1 row to “4 NEW Pattern-A executable + 1 NEW ValueBody isomorphism” or remove the subcount and defer to §1.5/§1.8 as the sole authority.

  1. CODING.md.

N/A — no Rust implementation, interfaces, helpers, result shapes, or method/function style changed; the diff is documentation-only.

  1. TESTING.md.

Compliant — no test is added in this PR because the gate is intentionally declaration-stage: the plan states the declarations are “NOT YET load-bearing closure predicates” (docs/r3-program-plan.md:109), while the new gate’s pass condition requires CI-visible executable conformance before it can become green (docs/r3-program-plan.md:295, docs/r3-structure.md:84).

  1. LOCKED DESIGN DECISIONS.

Compliant — the diff does not silently diverge from a locked design; it records the scoping decision as RATIFIED, names the sanction/ratification anchors, points to the worker brief, and binds the result to §1.8 gate #96 (docs/r3-program-plan.md:1006).

  1. TRACKED vs UNTRACKED DEBT.

Compliant — the new staged obligation is bounded and owned: R3 close requires all non-carved load-bearing gates to reach CONSUMER_LANDED (docs/r3-program-plan.md:121), and gate #96 names Substrate plus Verification co-ownership and a fail-closed conformance target (docs/r3-program-plan.md:295). No new TODO, temporary implementation bridge, or unbounded scaffold appears in the diff.

3. Verdict

APPROVE_WITH_COMMENTS. The substantive change is correctly tracked: #96 becomes an explicit R3 load-bearing gate with owners, status, and fail-closed conformance expectations. The only issue I see is localized textual hygiene in the Q1 summary’s stale “5 NEW Pattern-A” subcount; it does not undermine the new gate row itself, but it should be corrected to preserve the ledger’s single-authority discipline.

….8 authority

Per openai-pro APPROVE_WITH_COMMENTS finding on PR #2217: §1.5 lane breakdown
says "T-V-L4-L7-Direct 2 + 4 NEW Pattern-A executable + 1 ValueBody isomorphism"
(within-lane count) while Q1 row said "5 NEW Pattern-A executable" (cross-lane
total — 4 in T-V-L4-L7-Direct + 1 in T-CostLens-Composition for
symbolic_cost_expr_equals_executable). Both technically correct but at different
aggregation levels — confusing for readers; same closure-gate set has two
sub-counting authorities.

Fix per reviewer's "defer to §1.5/§1.8 as sole authority" suggestion: remove the
within-Q1 sub-count breakdown; preserve the historical pointer (Pattern-A family
+ codex BLOCKING + ValueBody) but route precise sub-counts through §1.5/§1.8
authority. Single-authority discipline (P2) restored at the Q1 row level.

Total still reads 96 closure gates; lane scope still reads 18 lanes + 1 standing
program. Audit math unchanged — only the sub-count attribution moves.

1. Story of the diff

This PR takes the previously open Q-ValueBody-Isomorphism risk and makes it an explicit R3 closure obligation. It updates the R3 closure arithmetic from 95 to 96 total lane gates and from 92 to 93 R3-load-bearing gates, consistently carving only #81/#82/#95 to R4 (docs/r3-program-plan.md:8, docs/r3-program-plan.md:84, docs/r3-program-plan.md:95, docs/r3-program-plan.md:98). The new gate, #96 value_body_substrate_mirror_isomorphism_executable, is added to the canonical ledger and to r3-structure.md’s acceptance list as a ValueBody Rust↔.dag mirror-conformance requirement (docs/r3-program-plan.md:295, docs/r3-structure.md:84). Load-bearingly, the gate does not accept another hand-maintained checklist of variants: it requires generation from a single source or a structural isomorphism/conformance check, and it explicitly fail-closes on variant/shape skew (docs/r3-structure.md:84).

The PR also preserves the “declarations-only at HEAD” honesty boundary: the plan still says the declared gates are not yet consumer-verified and that R3 close requires CONSUMER_LANDED for all load-bearing gates (docs/r3-program-plan.md:109, docs/r3-program-plan.md:121). The Q1 hygiene change is useful: instead of repeating a detailed sub-count in the Q1 ratification row, it now defers sub-count authority to §1.5/§1.8 (docs/r3-program-plan.md:765).

2. Invariant categories

  1. LAYER MODEL (substrate vs implementation).

Compliant — this is docs-only, but it is about a substrate mirror boundary: docs/r3-structure.md:84 correctly frames ValueBody mirror closure as generation-or-isomorphism from a single canonical source, with fail-closed behavior on skew, rather than permitting a second manually maintained substrate taxonomy.

  1. INVARIANTS.md + modeling-discipline.md.

Finding — NON-BLOCKING / citation hygiene. docs/r3-structure.md:84 and docs/r3-program-plan.md:295 both say **INVARIANTS §P1** (single-authority). The actual principle being invoked by “single-authority” / “no parallel authority” is Boundary Discipline / single-authority metadata, not Modeling Faithfulness. The gate shape itself is right — “generation-or-isomorphism only” and “NOT hand-maintained dual taxonomies” are the correct discipline — but the principle label should be P2 or split as P1 grounding + P2 single-authority to avoid making future reviewers apply the wrong rubric.

  1. CODING.md.

N/A — prose documentation only; no Rust functions, helpers, APIs, result shapes, method placement, or implementation style changed.

  1. TESTING.md.

Compliant — the diff does not pretend this docs PR lands the executable test. It states the declarations are “NOT YET load-bearing closure predicates” at docs/r3-program-plan.md:109, and separately requires runtime-executable/consumer-landed verification for R3 close at docs/r3-program-plan.md:121. The new gate’s required future test shape is behavior/conformance-oriented rather than implementation-text enumeration (docs/r3-structure.md:84).

  1. LOCKED DESIGN DECISIONS.

N/A — the diff references ratified routing/sanction for Q-ValueBody-Isomorphism (docs/r3-program-plan.md:1006, docs/r3-structure.md:84) but does not alter a marked LOCKED design decision or diverge from one in the changed text.

  1. TRACKED vs UNTRACKED DEBT.

Compliant — the new item is explicitly tracked as gate #96, with status DECLARED, owner split, bounded acceptable mechanisms, and a closure trigger of executable conformance before R3 close (docs/r3-program-plan.md:295, docs/r3-program-plan.md:121, docs/r3-structure.md:84). The Q1 row also avoids becoming a second count authority by deferring detailed sub-counts back to §1.5/§1.8 (docs/r3-program-plan.md:765).

3. Verdict

APPROVE_WITH_COMMENTS

The substance is sound: #96 is added consistently, counted correctly, and constrained to structural generation/isomorphism rather than a hand-maintained mirror. I would fix the INVARIANTS §P1 (single-authority) label to P2/Boundary Discipline, but that is citation hygiene rather than a reason to block this docs gate.

…96 gate

Per openai-pro APPROVE_WITH_COMMENTS finding on PR #2217 sha d59403e:
"INVARIANTS §P1 (single-authority)" mislabels — single-authority is P2 (Boundary
Discipline), not P1 (Modeling Faithfulness). Reviewer's "P2 or split as P1+P2"
suggestion: split is more complete since both axes apply.

Verified against INVARIANTS.md:
- P1 Modeling Faithfulness: every construct grounds in external fact or
  structural-derivation from one — applies to "generation-or-isomorphism"
  (mirror grounds in canonical source)
- P2 Boundary Discipline: every fact lives in exactly one authoritative place —
applies to "no hand-maintained dual taxonomies" (parallel-authority concern)

Both r3-program-plan.md §1.8 #96 row + r3-structure.md §Acceptance #96 entry
updated to cite P1 (grounding) for the generation-or-isomorphism axis AND P2
(single-authority) for the no-parallel-authority axis. Future reviewers now
apply the right rubric to each constraint.

APPROVE

Diff is doc-only and looks clean. No concrete violations of the pinned invariants, coding, or testing guidance stood out in the added gate text: the new value_body_substrate_mirror_isomorphism_executable language in docs/r3-structure.md and docs/r3-program-plan.md explicitly forbids hand-maintained parallel authority and requires generation-or-isomorphism from a single source, which is aligned with P1/P2 rather than violating them. The count/ledger updates are internally consistent, and nothing in this diff touches executable Rust or test code.

CI failures NOT caused by this PR — inherited from main breakage at `d4b37da8`

Investigated v3 failures on `d59403eb`:

```
m1_substrate_test::substrate_accessor_rust_binding_invariants
expected 6 substrate accessor bindings (...) left: 7
parse_stage4_prep::handwritten_parse_snapshot_matches_manifest
src/v3/spec/rust.dag: 170 items (manifest expects 168)
src/v3/std/substrate.dag: 65 items (manifest expects 64)
```

Diff scope: this PR is docs-only (`docs/r3-program-plan.md` + `docs/r3-structure.md`; 14 inserts / 12 deletes across 2 files). Cannot cause v3 substrate-accessor or parse-manifest test failures.

Root cause: PR #2194 (Substrate T-CostLens-Composition) merged at `d4b37da8` (2026-05-08T06:33Z) added a new substrate accessor binding + new items to `rust.dag`/`substrate.dag` without refreshing the snapshot manifest or updating the binding count assertion. Main has been red since.

Verification:

Fix path (NOT my scope — Substrate Mgr / PR #2194 author surface):

  1. `cargo test -p v3-compiler refresh_handwritten_parse_snapshot_manifest -- --ignored` to refresh the manifest
  2. Update binding-count assertion in `m1_substrate_test::substrate_accessor_rust_binding_invariants` from 6 → 7 (or fold the new binding into the expected list)

Surfacing to Substrate Mgr at #2068 separately. PR #2217 stays standing-by for merge once main goes green.

Same failure as `d59403e` — main still red

Verified at sha `32ebdfd0`: v3 `m1_substrate_test::substrate_accessor_rust_binding_invariants` + `parse_stage4_prep::handwritten_parse_snapshot_matches_manifest` failures identical to those on `d59403e`. Root cause unchanged: PR #2194 (T-CostLens-Composition; `d4b37da8`) drift propagating across all subsequent merges (`d4b37da8` / `dfb168c2` / `fd00e090` all RED on main).

Already surfaced to Substrate Mgr at gunbc#2068 #issuecomment-4404330365 with fix path. PM can't fix-forward — substrate accessor list update needs Substrate authority + which-binding-is-new domain knowledge.

PR #2217 standing-by; will go green once main fix lands.

1. Story of the diff

This PR takes the previously open Q-ValueBody-Isomorphism concern and pulls it into the R3 close set as gate #96, value_body_substrate_mirror_isomorphism_executable. The plan updates the global R3 arithmetic from 95→96 total gates and 92→93 R3-load-bearing gates, consistently preserving the three R4-carved rows #81/#82/#95 as excluded from the R3 thesis-close conjunction at docs/r3-program-plan.md:8, docs/r3-program-plan.md:84, docs/r3-program-plan.md:95, and docs/r3-program-plan.md:98. The load-bearing contract is that Rust ValueBody and its substrate .dag mirror must be closed by generation or structural isomorphism, not by hand-maintained dual taxonomies; that contract is added both to the §1.8 ledger row at docs/r3-program-plan.md:295 and the r3-structure.md Acceptance list at docs/r3-structure.md:84.

2. Invariant categories

  1. LAYER MODEL — Finding.

BLOCKING / P2 single authority: docs/r3-program-plan.md:295 adds a full pass-condition body for value_body_substrate_mirror_isomorphism_executable — “gate-satisfaction discipline,” “bounded mechanism set,” “Fail-closed on variant/shape skew,” and ownership — while docs/r3-structure.md:84 adds the same full acceptance body. Because this is a substrate-shape closure gate, the gate contract itself is load-bearing. Keeping the full mechanism text in two hand-maintained documents creates exactly the parallel-authority shape the new text is trying to prohibit. Make one location the authority for the gate body and reduce the other to an index/pointer.

  1. INVARIANTS.md + modeling-discipline.md — Finding.

BLOCKING / P2 Boundary Discipline, single-authority metadata: the new text correctly says “NOT hand-maintained dual taxonomies” at docs/r3-program-plan.md:295 and docs/r3-structure.md:84, but the PR hand-maintains the same gate contract in both places. The fix is not to weaken the gate; it is to preserve the P1/P2 content in one canonical location and have the other location refer to it.

  1. CODING.md — N/A.

Diff is Markdown-only; no Rust functions, helper placement, error/result shape, method-vs-free-function choice, or naming surface is changed.

  1. TESTING.md — Compliant.

No test is expected in this docs-only declaration PR because the diff honestly keeps the new row at DECLARED in docs/r3-program-plan.md:295, and docs/r3-program-plan.md:121 keeps the R3-close requirement that all load-bearing §1.8 gates become CONSUMER_LANDED rather than satisfied by prose alone.

  1. LOCKED DESIGN DECISIONS — N/A.

The diff references ratification/sanction for Q-ValueBody-Isomorphism at docs/r3-program-plan.md:1006 and docs/r3-structure.md:84, but it does not modify a line marked LOCKED in the diff.

  1. TRACKED vs UNTRACKED DEBT — Compliant.

The new DECLARED gate is tracked rather than silent: docs/r3-program-plan.md:295 names the gate, scope, fail-closed skew behavior, bounded acceptable mechanism family, and Substrate/Verification co-ownership; docs/r3-program-plan.md:121 supplies the dissolution trigger by requiring all R3-load-bearing gates to become CONSUMER_LANDED before R3 close.

3. Verdict

REQUEST_CHANGES

The core #96 gate is the right invariant shape — generation or structural isomorphism, fail-closed on skew, no hand-maintained taxonomy — but the PR currently duplicates the gate body in both r3-program-plan.md and r3-structure.md. For a substrate-shape close gate, that is a P2 single-authority issue and should be collapsed before merge.

…nonical-pointer

Per openai-pro REQUEST_CHANGES finding on PR #2217 sha 32ebdfd:

> The PR currently duplicates the gate body in both r3-program-plan.md and
> r3-structure.md. For a substrate-shape close gate, that is a P2 single-authority
> issue and should be collapsed before merge.

Self-reflexive failure: the new gate text forbids hand-maintained dual taxonomies
(P1 grounding + P2 single-authority), but I added the same gate body as
hand-maintained dual content in two docs.

Per r3-program-plan.md:302 existing convention: "Authoritative source per gate:
r3-structure.md §Acceptance carries the Pass-condition body for each row above.
This ledger is the consolidated index — body lives in canonical archive."

Other §1.8 rows already follow this (e.g., #1 tier3_termination_mirror_dissolved
notes column = "r3-structure.md §Acceptance"). My #96 row violated the
convention by including the full body inline.

Fix: collapse §1.8 #96 row notes to a terse canonical-source pointer
(r3-structure.md §Acceptance T-Verification-L4-L7-Direct + brief reference).
Canonical Pass-condition body stays in r3-structure.md §Acceptance as authority.
Single-authority restored.

Documentation-only PR adding gate #96 to closure-ledger. Updates counts (95→96, 92→93) consistently across both docs and ratifies a previously-OPEN question.

Verdict: APPROVE — Pure docs change. Counts updated consistently throughout (§1, §1.5, §1.7, §1.8, §6, §10.2.6, Q1 row), the new ledger row #96 cites its authorities (gunbc#828 / #846) and points at a brief, the Q-ValueBody-Isomorphism row flips OPEN→RATIFIED coherently, and the r3-structure.md addition embeds the right discipline (INVARIANTS §P1/§P2, generation-or-isomorphism, fail-closed, single-authority). No code under review; no INVARIANTS/MODELING/CODING/TESTING violations grounded in the diff.

Same v3 inheritance — fix-forward in flight under fierce-ram-21

Verified at `851ae21a`: same `m1_substrate_test::substrate_accessor_rust_binding_invariants` + `parse_stage4_prep::handwritten_parse_snapshot_matches_manifest` failures inherited from main `d4b37da8`.

Status update: fierce-ram-21 (PR #2194 author) self-flagged URGENT at gunbc#2153 c#4404390XXX (07:11Z). Fix-forward is in their dispatch queue under standing-authority discipline. Main has now gone red across 4 commits in a row (`d4b37da8` / `dfb168c2` / `fd00e090` / `3ae9d51f`); fix-forward is structurally critical, not just for my docs PR.

PM scope exhausted: docs-only diff cannot fix substrate ratchet drift; manifest refresh + accessor binding count update need Substrate authority + which-binding-is-new domain knowledge. Already surfaced at gunbc#2068 c#4404330365 (PM → Substrate Mgr); dashboard auto-relay is independent of the surface chain.

PR #2217 stays standing-by. No further fixes possible on this branch until main fix lands.

1. Story of the diff

This PR is a documentation-level R3 closure-gate update: it turns the previously open Q-ValueBody-Isomorphism question into an R3-scoped, ratified gate and threads that decision through the R3 plan/structure authority. The load-bearing move is that docs/r3-structure.md:84 adds value_body_substrate_mirror_isomorphism_executable under the L4/L7 direct verification family and binds its satisfaction to generation-or-isomorphism, not a hand-maintained variant list. The program plan then updates the global counts from 95/92 to 96/93, keeping the three R4-carved gates #81/#82/#95 excluded from the R3 close conjunction at docs/r3-program-plan.md:8, docs/r3-program-plan.md:84, and docs/r3-program-plan.md:95.

The diff is careful not to pretend the new gate is already executable: docs/r3-program-plan.md:109 still says the plan declares 96 gates and that no consumer infrastructure verifies them at HEAD, while docs/r3-program-plan.md:121 keeps the closure requirement at “CONSUMER_LANDED” before R3 close. The new ledger row at docs/r3-program-plan.md:295 is therefore an index entry pointing to the canonical Pass-condition body in r3-structure.md, not a second implementation of the predicate.

2. Invariant categories

  1. LAYER MODEL — Compliant. The diff does not mutate substrate types or Dag structure; it declares a substrate-facing closure gate and constrains it to “generation-or-isomorphism only” with “Fail-closed on variant/shape skew” at docs/r3-structure.md:84, which is the right substrate-discipline shape for a Rust ValueBody ↔ .dag mirror.
  2. INVARIANTS.md + modeling-discipline.md — Compliant. P1/P2 are explicitly separated at docs/r3-structure.md:84: the mirror must ground in a canonical source via generation or structural derivation, and hand-maintained dual taxonomies are called structurally inadmissible because they would create parallel authority. The fail-closed principle is also named in the same line via variant/shape skew rejection.
  3. CODING.md — N/A. The diff is pure Markdown documentation; it adds no Rust functions, helpers, methods, result shapes, hidden state, or implementation-style surface to review under CODING.md.
  4. TESTING.md — Compliant. No test is added, but this PR is explicitly a declaration/update PR rather than the consumer implementation: docs/r3-program-plan.md:109 states the gates are not yet load-bearing at HEAD, and docs/r3-program-plan.md:121 requires all R3-load-bearing gates to become CONSUMER_LANDED before R3 close. The added gate’s intended test/conformance shape is behavior-level and CI-visible, not a prose-only claim, per docs/r3-structure.md:84.
  5. LOCKED DESIGN DECISIONS — N/A. The diff references ratification/Brian sanction for Q-ValueBody-Isomorphism at docs/r3-program-plan.md:1006 and docs/r3-structure.md:84, but it does not alter a line marked LOCKED in the provided thesis/design material.
  6. TRACKED vs UNTRACKED DEBT — Compliant. The new declared-only work is tracked rather than left as ambient debt: it has documentation and status in the ledger at docs/r3-program-plan.md:295, named owners/co-owners at docs/r3-program-plan.md:1006 and docs/r3-structure.md:84, bounded acceptable mechanisms at docs/r3-structure.md:84, and a dissolution/closure trigger through the R3 rule that declarations must become CONSUMER_LANDED before close at docs/r3-program-plan.md:121.

3. Verdict

APPROVE

I did not find a line-citable invariant violation in the diff. The PR consistently updates the R3 gate count, keeps the new gate declared rather than falsely green, and binds the mirror-risk closure to a single-authority generation/isomorphism mechanism instead of creating a hand-maintained parallel taxonomy.

Non-blocking — Strengths

  • docs/r3-structure.md The canonical #96 pass body now names acceptable structural conformance shapes and makes fail-closed variant/shape skew part of the gate.

ROADMAP — Verified

  • ValueBody Rust/.dag mirror drift: The drift is now ratified as R3-load-bearing gate #96 with Substrate/Verification co-ownership and R3 close requiring it to become GREEN.

✅ No blocking concerns; the prior gate-shape issue is handled.

… binding + manifest refresh

Main has been red across 4 commits (d4b37da/dfb168c2/fd00e090/3ae9d51f) since
PR #2194 (T-CostLens-Composition) merged at 06:33Z. PR #2194 added the 7th
SubstrateAccessorBinding (declaration_by_name_binding_rust at src/v3/spec/rust.dag:1704)
plus expanded substrate.dag/rust.dag content, but did not bundle:
1. The corresponding bump in m1_substrate_test::substrate_accessor_rust_binding_invariants
(assertion still expected 6 bindings; now 7)
2. The parse_corpus_manifest.txt refresh for the new rust.dag (170 items,
   1357477 debug_bytes, fnv1a64 9bfd82407452889b) and substrate.dag (65 items,
   141515 debug_bytes, fnv1a64 1b2a4d2f9c834025) item/byte/hash deltas

This commit applies both:
- Updates assertion 6 → 7 + adds declaration_by_name to the expected accessor list
- Updates manifest with the values observed in CI failure logs at d59403e

The new declaration_by_name accessor + binding are correctly authored at
src/v3/spec/rust.dag:1700-1708 (rust_declaration_by_name_accessor +
declaration_by_name_binding_rust); they integrate cleanly with the existing
6 bindings under the universe-coverage check that follows the assertion.

Bundled into PR #2217 per operator ask: this PR is now docs (gate #96) +
fix-forward for main-red ratchet drift, since the docs-only branch was being
gated on main going green and standing-authority discipline allows fix-forward
on inherited regressions when within tactical scope.

Verdict: APPROVE

Docs-only change adding §1.8 gate #96 (value_body_substrate_mirror_isomorphism_executable) plus a "main-red ratchet drift" fix commit refreshing the substrate-accessor-bindings count (6→7 for declaration_by_name) and the parse-corpus manifest hashes for rust.dag / substrate.dag — the declaration_by_name accessor already exists on origin/main (visible at m1_substrate_test.rs:166-173), so the ratchet bump matches reality.

The gate text itself is well-grounded: it cites INVARIANTS §P1 (Modeling Faithfulness) and §P2 (Boundary Discipline) correctly, names a bounded mechanism set (build-time enum walk / boot-time check / .dag TestClaim / build.rs check), explicitly forbids hand-maintained dual taxonomies, defers substantive content to r3-structure.md §Acceptance per §1.8 single-authority convention (r3-program-plan.md:302), and routes count-bookkeeping through §1.5/§1.8 instead of duplicating sub-counts in Q1 (r3-program-plan.md:991). Counts update consistently across §1, §1.5, §1.7, §1.8, §6, §10.2.6 (95→96 / 92→93).

Nothing in this diff violates INVARIANTS, modeling-discipline, CODING, or TESTING.
