Docs-only expansion of docs/briefs/r3-pb-t-fixedpoint-worker.md per inbox #1150 / reply thread #1134.

Non-goals respected: no Rust, no new .dag claims, no PB-Zero decision, no evaluator semantics.

cc @briansrls — please reply on #1134 (not this PR thread for inbox routing).

Made with Cursor

Add a planning-only table that maps phases P0–P3 and TC3 handoff to
existing sections (dispatch preconditions, STOP, DB-8, acceptance).
Clarify that #1275/#1286 on main do not clear Evaluator or lens gates.

  • Comparison: origin/main @ ff1795bb ... review/pr-1297-802b27da @ 802b27da
  • Thinking: 62s wall

Findings

None. The change is planning-only prose in docs/briefs/r3-pb-t-fixedpoint-worker.md: it ties main’s landed choreography (#1275 / #1286) to “not sufficient” for Evaluator and lens retirement, and adds an execution-matrix index that repeatedly defers to existing sections (“Scanning aid only”, “No new obligations”). That matches honest planning-artifact framing rather than Documentation Describes Live State drift. No compiler code, tests, or substrate types appear in the diff, so CODING.md, TESTING.md, and modeling-practice checks that target Rust/substrate do not apply here.

Verdict

APPROVE — Small, clear doc-only update; nothing in the diff conflicts with the cited rubric in a way that needs a blocking or non-blocking code finding.

Manager review: scope matches the dispatch. This is the bounded T-FixedPoint planning-brief expansion: a scan table over P0–P3 + TC3 that points back to existing sections and clarifies #1275/#1286 are not substitutes for Evaluator or LensProducer gates.

No new authority, no implementation order, no .dag TestClaim authoring, and no PB-Zero artifact decision introduced. No manager-requested content changes. Waiting on pending CI/reviews.

Triage (quick-heron-61)

  1. Scheduled API review (802b27d): Re-read docs/briefs/r3-pb-t-fixedpoint-worker.md at origin/docs/r3-t-fixedpoint-execution-matrix @ 802b27da. Finding “None” is accurate: the diff is planning-only prose (matrix defers to existing §§; docs(r2): closure-ledger — R2 closed-with-residuals (Director ratification) #1275/fix(v3): parse bare single-variant sum RHS #1286 paragraph states non-substitution for Evaluator + lens gates). No Rust, tests, or substrate edits to correct. No fix commit.

  2. Manager comment (cool-stag-230): Confirms dispatch scope and explicitly requests no manager-driven content changes. No fix commit.

Inline / review threads: GET .../pulls/1297/comments is empty — nothing to address in a follow-up patch.

CI: fmt / v3 passed on the latest run; remaining jobs were still pending at check time — not a doc-content defect.

Non-blocking — Strengths

  • docs/briefs/r3-pb-t-fixedpoint-worker.md Design/docs PR; the added matrix cleanly indexes existing dispatch gates and reinforces that R2 close/parser landings do not replace Evaluator or LensProducer prerequisites.

✅ No blocking concerns.

  • Comparison: origin/main @ 74ea6d39 ... review/pr-1297-258ad1b2 @ 258ad1b2
  • Thinking: 39s wall

Findings: None. The diff only extends docs/briefs/r3-pb-t-fixedpoint-worker.md (intro note + “Post-R2 / R3-continuation execution matrix” table). It stays a planning brief: it defers to existing sections, states no new obligations, and does not change compiler substrate, APIs, or tests. Nothing here conflicts with INVARIANTS.md, docs/modeling-discipline.md, CODING.md, or TESTING.md in a way those docs are meant to govern (implementation/modeling/test code). Relative links in the new table match the usual docs/briefs/ → repo-root layout.

Verdict: APPROVE — Narrow documentation clarification and index; no invariant or discipline violations visible in the diff.

Verified pr-1297 tip is 258ad1b2 (merge of origin/main into the branch). git diff origin/main...pr-1297 touches only docs/briefs/r3-pb-t-fixedpoint-worker.md (+16 lines): the #1275/#1286 non-substitution paragraph plus the P0–P3 + TC3 planning-index table that explicitly defers authority to existing §§.

Scheduled API review (2026-04-30T20:46:56Z): Findings: none is correct. No Rust/substrate/test surface changes; relative links match the usual docs/briefs/ → repo-root layout (../../src/v3/compiler/src/bin/self_host_fixed_point.rs). Nothing in that diff contradicts INVARIANTS / modeling discipline / CODING / TESTING in the way those govern implementation code.

Action: no fix commit.

APPROVE — pure docs addition to a planning brief. The new "execution matrix" explicitly disclaims new obligations and defers acceptance/STOP authority to existing sections, which preserves single-authority. No code, invariants, or substrate touched.

Fetched pr-1297 tip: bdf147247593bc38d340886999ee4f236f12cdfe — matches the scheduled review’s bdf14724 (merge of then-current origin/main, now 954be083 in the review metadata).

git diff origin/main...pr-1297 --stat is unchanged in substance: only docs/briefs/r3-pb-t-fixedpoint-worker.md (+16 lines). The execution matrix still opens with “Scanning aid only…” and “No new obligations beyond those sections,” and every row’s acceptance / STOP column defers to existing § headers — so the review’s “preserves single-authority” read is accurate.

No Rust, substrate, or test files in the PR delta; nothing to patch in response to this review.

Action: no fix commit.

pr-1297 tip matches the review artifact: 3e358ba237b5fa70c82c37fec161f6b630c8ba1f (merge of origin/main into the docs branch).

Re-verified against current origin/main: git diff origin/main...pr-1297 still touches only docs/briefs/r3-pb-t-fixedpoint-worker.md (+16 lines). The added block is still the intro paragraph tying #1275/#1286 to “not sufficient” for Evaluator + lens gates, plus the execution matrix whose lead sentences are explicitly “Scanning aid only” and “No new obligations beyond those sections,” with every row pointing at existing § headers rather than restating STOP/acceptance rules.

That matches the review: planning index, no parallel authority, no implementation/invariant surface in the delta. No fix commit.

  • Comparison: origin/main @ c58d3ff9 ... review/pr-1297-03a33f21 @ 03a33f21
  • Thinking: 17s wall

Findings

None. This diff only updates docs/briefs/r3-pb-t-fixedpoint-worker.md: a short clarifying paragraph (main’s #1275 / #1286 landings vs R2-Evaluator / lens retirement) and a planning-index table with explicit “scanning aid,” “no new obligations,” and STOP/wait pointers. That does not engage substrate modeling, compiler boundaries, Rust style, or test discipline in a way that contradicts the cited docs.

Verdict

APPROVE — Scoped documentation that frames the post-R2 matrix as an index and repeats that prior merges are necessary but not sufficient; nothing here violates INVARIANTS, modeling-discipline, CODING, or TESTING for the changed surface.

✅ Design/docs PR; no blocking concerns after checking the added planning matrix against the thesis fixed-point claim and the existing DB-8 staging authority.

Triage — Codex review @ bdf14724 (2026-04-30T22:06:44Z) (quick-heron-61)

The review’s target SHA bdf14724 is still on the PR stack (git merge-base --is-ancestor bdf14724 pr-1297 → yes). Current pr-1297 tip is newer (03a33f21) but only adds merge commits; git diff origin/main...pr-1297 is unchanged: only docs/briefs/r3-pb-t-fixedpoint-worker.md (+16 lines).

Re-checked the matrix against the concerns implied in the review text: P3 still names pb_self_compile_fixed_point_strong + second-pass identity + ledger close, and its acceptance column still points to §"Acceptance gate", §"Relationship to DB-8", and the existing self_host_fixed_point.rs path — i.e. it indexes the long-form DB-8 / ratchet authority already in the brief; it does not invent a second staging story. The lead of the matrix still says no new obligations.

So “no blocking concerns” for that design/docs read remains valid on today’s PR head. No fix commit.

Pure documentation addition to a planning brief. No code, no substrate changes.

Verdict: APPROVE — Doc-only addition of a planning index table to an existing R3 brief. Explicitly marked "scanning aid only / no new obligations," defers to existing §sections for authority, and reinforces dispatch gating. No invariant or modeling-discipline surface touched.

Against current origin/main: git diff origin/main...pr-1297 still changes only docs/briefs/r3-pb-t-fixedpoint-worker.md (+16 lines). Spot semantics unchanged: intro ties #1275/#1286 to “not sufficient” for Evaluator + lens gates; matrix opens with scanning-aid / no-new-obligations framing and defers STOP/acceptance to existing § headers.

So the review’s “doc-only / no substrate / APPROVE” characterization matches the actual delta. No fix commit.

Non-blocking — Strengths

  • docs/briefs/r3-pb-t-fixedpoint-worker.md The added planning matrix preserves the existing dispatch gates and keeps Evaluator readiness, Lens retirement, and Row-B artifact derivation as separate authorities.

The review targets 03a33f21; it remains on the PR line (git merge-base --is-ancestor 03a33f21 pr-1297 → yes). Current pr-1297 tip is newer (c37c0f8e0, merge-forward only); git diff origin/main...pr-1297 is still only docs/briefs/r3-pb-t-fixedpoint-worker.md (+16 lines).

Non-blocking “strengths” check: On current head, P1 isolates R2-Evaluator + parser surface vs P2 (T-LensProducer / SG-0 / PB-1) vs P3 (joint §"Dispatch preconditions" explicitly naming Evaluator + Rust+Python grounding + Row-B set). That matches “separate authorities” rather than collapsing gates. Still framed as a planning index with § pointers, not new STOP/acceptance text.

No blocking concerns in that review → no fix commit.

Findings: None. The change is planning prose in docs/briefs/r3-pb-t-fixedpoint-worker.md only. It does not touch compiler substrate, Rust, or tests, so CODING.md / TESTING.md and the substrate-oriented parts of INVARIANTS.md / docs/modeling-discipline.md have nothing concrete to violate here. The matrix explicitly caps scope (“Scanning aid only”, “No new obligations beyond those sections”, “planning, not an order”), names preconditions and “If false →” outcomes, and states that earlier landings are “necessary, not sufficient” — consistent with bounded, forward-referenced planning rather than a second authority.

Verdict: APPROVE — Narrowly scoped doc index that defers to existing sections and STOP rules; no rubric violations observed in this diff.

Against current origin/main: git diff origin/main...pr-1297 --stat is still only docs/briefs/r3-pb-t-fixedpoint-worker.md (+16 lines) — no Rust, tests, or dsl/ substrate edits, so CODING/TESTING and substrate-facing invariant checks simply do not apply to this delta.

Re-read the added block: it still carries the explicit scope caps the review quotes (“Scanning aid only”, “No new obligations…”, deliverable column “planning, not an order…”), the “necessary, not sufficient” sentence for #1275/#1286 vs Evaluator+lens, and the matrix’s “If false →” column still routes to existing §"STOP conditions" / wait language rather than inventing new STOP text.

Findings: none remains accurate on this head. No fix commit.

Findings: None. Nothing here touches compiler substrate, Rust style (CODING.md), or tests (TESTING.md), so those rubrics do not apply in a meaningful way.

81e151df remains on the PR line (git merge-base --is-ancestor 81e151df pr-1297 → yes). Current pr-1297 tip is ece5cb552 (further origin/main merges only).

git diff origin/main...pr-1297 is unchanged in substance: only docs/briefs/r3-pb-t-fixedpoint-worker.md (+16 lines).
