This is not ready, this branch is the result of my work at the Oakland offsite. I got VNet "working" on Linux but it is pretty hacked together and might only work on the ubuntu instance I was testing it on, it also just calls itself with sudo to get root. But at least it was useful to identify the tricky parts that we'll have to solve before shipping VNet linux support.
