Plan for JUnit 6 support

Overview

The JUnit team is currently planning on releasing JUnit 6 with a Java 17 baseline during the Fall of 2025.

After JUnit 6 is released, there will be no further active development on JUnit 5 (except for bug fixes).

Thus, it would be beneficial to consider how the switch from JUnit 5 to JUnit 6 will impact the JUnit support in the Native Build Tools.
