BUG: After editing an expedition save, the expedition tab is no longer displayed

DETAIL: Made a brand new save (5 days ago) in v5.12. I went into the Anomaly and started the current Aquarius expedition. Loaded in and played for a bit, exited to the menu. Used the save editor to "repair" my ship and saved the file. Loaded back into the game the Expedition tab was missing. This happened EVERY TIME I edited the save file.

FIX/WORKAROUND: Use the game to make a new save. Reload and the expedition tab will reappear.

Update: the patch for "The Cursed", while working fine(1) has not resolved this issue. Expedition tab missing after any edits made and a save/reload in game fixes it.

(1) Thank you for your continued and down right amazing support of this 8 year old game

Expedition tab missing after any edits made and a save/reload in game fixes it.

i've seen this for a long time... not sure how long it had been happening before i noticed it, though...

i think i've been playing since Prisms, June 2021... i had just missed Exp 1 and played like a week before Exp 2 arrived (which i tried and failed the first time because i couldn't work the Galaxy map to find undiscovered Star Systems)... anyway, i looked for the editor maybe Jan or Feb of 2022 because i wanted to copy over a ship or Freighter from one save to another... the first time i noticed the Expedition tab being missing was within the last 1.5 years... i think i commented on or filed an issue about it... idk... i think this was maybe about the time i started noticing the time stamp in the game's save slot selection list was missing after editing a save... it did kind of make it easier to see which saves i had edited and not played afterward...

after the 1.17.6 update dropped, i made a quick edit to my dedicated (as opposed to started via the Anomaly) Expedition save... when i restarted, NMS said it was a Custom (vs Normal) save but that was because i had changed a difficulty setting in-game before editing... once the save was resaved in-game, it returned to listing it as an Expedition save and the Expedition tab returned...

Thank you, but that is still odd because for every expedition since the very first one (4 years ago); my normal process is to play thru the expedition as is and then all subsequent play thru's (saves) were manually set to Survival mode by editing the JSON data to change the difficulty settings. I never had to save/reload until this previous expedition, Aquarius. It's def a file save/format issue because on the select screen the edited save has lost it's "Community Expedition" tag, again until a save and reload in game.

Back in March I worked on the Mega Save project where I started with one expedition using offline mode to replay them. I rolled all the expeditions (by playing them) and rewards into one master save. I used the Save Editor a lot through out the entire project and never experienced this issue.

I've done a bit of a revamp of the steam metadata formats, which should fix most of your issues with expedition saves. Please try version 1.17.7 and hopefully this works out for you :)

Thank you - Made a quick inventory edit this am and the fix worked. Not only was the Expedition tab in the game, on the save select screen the edited save was still listed as an Expedition.

Quick ? Is Pateron the only way to (continue) to support you?

BTW I'm amazed you and I are still doing this after 8 years. I mean you have the hard job, all I do is come up with ridiculous scenarios to play out in the game. ♥️
