Diff with Working Tree fails from repo/commit quickpick list if file was renamed (and the commit was before the rename) #30

I have yet to figure out how to find the most recent filename given a commit. I've tried to a log to go from the commit to head {sha}..HEAD which gets me to most recent commit with the file at the point of the rename, but it returns the old filename for that commit not the newer one.
