Blank terminal screen when building from source #5906

When building the ghostty binary from source on a gentoo system. I am greeted with a blank screen.
Here are logs printed to stdout when launched from another terminal:

Note that this occurs even on a blank config (no fonts or background).
Also, the visuals work fine when compiling with the following command (albeit the app is slow then):

zig build -Dapp-runtime=glfw run

Negative scale seems very much wrong. This looks like it's basically just zero. We should clamp this. Making an issue. #5927

This looks suspicious, try ghostty --config-default-files=false --window-padding-x=0 --window-padding-y=0 please.

Could you also try a debug build, in case the logs from that are more useful?

Looks like some calculation with the padding is overflowing its floating point type 👀.

Note that this occurs even on a blank config (no fonts or background).

The default options has some slight window padding

Looks like some calculation with the padding is overflowing its floating point type 👀.

in their output logs negative numbers seems bad, you cant have negative padding? (I would assume that is a requirement)

for example a debug build on my machine has positive numbers

~~Not saying the screen should be empty but you also shouldnt be using the glfw runtime~~

I see you put that just to test that the GTK one doesnt work
