Feature request: open hyperlinks in terminal applications

Ghostty config has a placeholder (added in be05c3a) for this option, but no ability to currently use it.

What I want is this behavior that I have in kitty:

• run rg --hyperlink-format=kitty <something>
• click on a result
• have it open up in vim

Here's a very short screencast of me using kitty, searching for a string with rg, and clicking on the result, which opens the file in vim right to the line I searched for. It's a super handy ability!

This request is similar to, but not the same as #1972, which talks about linking file paths; this is about opening file hyperlinks in terminal applications. As far as I can tell, there is neither a discussion nor an issue filed for this feature.

you can already do this to open links in the alternate buffer its ctrl+shift+click anything in the alternate buffer requires adding shift because ghostty impliments fixterms

edit: the title is confusing.

I would also think if it exists in the config then its already an accepted feature request

I will happily edit the title if you have a better one: I want OSC8 hyperlinks to be able to open terminal applications when clicked.

Most importantly, file:// hyperlinks, but I also have some other ones I use

That is not currently possible. It is on the roadmap though.
