perf(cake_kda_det_kcp): v2 affine merge, offset walks and BF16x3 transfer walk, bitwise identical to v1 - #8803
flashinfer.experimental.cake_kda_det_train_kcp holds the deterministic context-parallel (KCP) training kernels of KDA (Kimi Delta Attention). This PR replaces four of them with v2 builds. Outputs and gradients are bitwise identical to v1. The baseline is v1, the previous Cake version of each kernel, which main ships today. Per-kernel ranges are isolated kernel times on GB300.
Affine merge (state merge across ranks): register-blocked v2 in four builds with 8, 16, 32 or 64 columns per CTA. A per-architecture rule picks the build from T = n_chains * ncols / 128. The 64-column build ships on sm_100a and sm_103a only. 1.46-2.43x.
Forward-state offset walk (fwd h): v2 split-role schedule for every head count. 1.02-1.36x.
Backward-state offset walk (dh): v2 overlap schedule for H >= 64. H <= 63 keeps v1 because v2 is slower at H = 4. 1.01-1.14x.
BF16x3 transfer walk at value width 64: v2 with two compute warpgroups. 1.26-1.41x.
End to end, the CP4 training step (fwd+bwd) is 1.022-1.026x faster on GB300 over three runs and 1.023x faster on GB200.
End-to-end training step: CP4 (4 ranks), 16384 tokens per rank, 64 heads (Q, K and V), per-document zigzag, Q/K L2 norm in the kernel. Values are ms as v1 (main) → v2 (this PR), with speedup = v1 / v2. v1 and v2 were timed on the same node. CUDA 13.4, PyTorch 2.14.1+cu130.

The package's other Cake variants are unchanged here (the full-width and two-CTA tape walks, the two-CTA offset walks, the KCP output stage and the output backward), the non-deterministic KDA KCP package keeps the v1 kernels, and the family ships on sm_100a, sm_103a and sm_107a.
Summary by CodeRabbit

Documentation
Updated KCP program counts and selection guidance.
…uild per launch shape
The merge program ships one record per register-blocked build (column block, thread tile, packed FMA
pairs on sm_100a / sm_103a); every build gives the same bits as the previous one. A new select rule
kind, "chains", picks the record from the launch's (ncols, transpose_m, n_chains) by regions, and
merge_record() names it. The kernel backend's positional merge ABI follows the selected record's
column block by default.
Three merge builds replace the two previous column-block builds: 64 columns with an 8 x 8 thread
tile, 32 columns with a 4 x 8 tile (both with packed FMA pairs on sm_100a / sm_103a) and 16
columns with a 4 x 4 tile. build.json gains their entries; the other programs keep their units
and entries.
…ule table
MERGE_RULE names the merge record of a launch from T = n_chains * ncols / 128 (its 128-column
chain blocks) per architecture: the 4 x 4 builds over 8 and 16 columns, the 4 x 8 build over 32
columns and the 8 x 8 build over 64 columns (packed FMA pairs on sm_100a / sm_103a; sm_107a ships
the scalar builds and no 8 x 8 build). The bands are the fastest build per T measured on GB300.
The "merge_rule" select kind replaces the region rule; merge_record() takes the architecture.
… names
The merge ships four register-blocked builds: c8 4x4, c16 4x4 and c32 4x8 on
sm_100a, sm_103a and sm_107a (column pairs on sm_100a/sm_103a), and c64 8x8 with
column pairs on sm_100a/sm_103a only.
The deterministic package now ships its own register-blocked merge builds; this
package keeps its column-block c8/c16 merge builds. The mirror tests compare
every other record and unit, and pin this package's merge records.
…le and overlap builds
The forward offset walk's full-width record is the split-role build (320 threads).
The adjoint offset walk ships the overlap-schedule build beside the plain one; the
walk_heads rule (WALK_HEADS_RULE) picks the overlap build from 64 value heads.
Every build gives the same bits.
…roup BF16x3 build
The shipped half-width BF16x3 transfer walk record points at the build with two
compute warpgroups (320 threads, same bits). The test-only transfer walk records
stay as they are.
The KCP registry now selects merge and offset-walk records using architecture, chain count, and head count. The package adds and updates CUDA kernels, bindings, and architecture-specific build records. Build tests cover the updated selection rules and package-specific library records.

Limit merge record selection to the ncols values the kernels accept.
merge_record and select_record accept any positive multiple of 128. All four kcp_affine_merge_c* bindings reject ncols > 256. For example, ncols=384, n_chains=1, arch='sm_103a' selects kcp_affine_merge_c8, and the launch then fails inside the binding.

Update _merge_rule_record to validate a non-None arch against MERGE_RULE before
indexing it, and raise ValueError for unsupported architectures so select_record
and merge_record expose the same error type.

Apply the explicit cols_per_cta on the registry path, or reject it.
With the default provider, KernelBackend(cols_per_cta=...) is ignored for merges. _merge_args and _run_trim leave args["cols_per_cta"] as None, so run_program selects the registry record. Forward the explicit width to the _c<cols> record path, or raise when the provider is run_program.

Ensure KernelBackend(cols_per_cta=...) is not silently ignored when the provider
is run_program: make _merge_args and _run_trim forward the explicit width to the
matching _c<cols> registry record if supported, or reject that configuration if
it is not. Preserve the existing registry selection behavior when no explicit
width is set.

flashinfer.experimental.cake_kda_det_train_kcpholds the deterministic context-parallel (KCP) training kernels of KDA (Kimi Delta Attention). This PR replaces four of them with v2 builds. Outputs and gradients are bitwise identical to v1. The baseline is v1, the previous Cake version of each kernel, which main ships today. Per-kernel ranges are isolated kernel times on GB300.End to end, the CP4 training step (fwd+bwd) is 1.022-1.026x faster on GB300 over three runs and 1.023x faster on GB200.
Kernel time inside the training step: ranks 1-3, PyTorch profiler, us. CUDA 13.4, PyTorch 2.14.1+cu130.
Per-kernel times, GB300 (sm_103a), CUDA 13.4
CUPTI kernel time, cold L2, median of 3 interleaved rounds. GB300 (sm_103a, 152 SMs), CUDA 13.4, PyTorch 2.14.1+cu130. Speedup = v1 / v2.
Affine merge (us). v1 is the 8-column build that main uses. v2 is the build the rule picks. T = n_chains * ncols / 128.
Forward-state offset walk (us)
Backward-state offset walk (us), H 64. The two H 4 shapes stay on v1 and are unchanged by this PR, because v2 is slower there (248.42 → 252.51 us and 224.58 → 225.76 us).
BF16x3 transfer walk, value width 64 (ms)
The package's other Cake variants are unchanged here (the full-width and two-CTA tape walks, the two-CTA offset walks, the KCP output stage and the output backward), the non-deterministic KDA KCP package keeps the v1 kernels, and the family ships on sm_100a, sm_103a and sm_107a.
