feat(cake_lm_head_det_loss): det names for the chunked LM-head + loss backend - #8059
The chunked LM-head + loss backend is deterministic: for fixed inputs, hardware, chunk plan and initial accumulation buffers, its forward and backward give bitwise-identical results run to run. This PR gives it det names:
the package flashinfer.experimental.cake_lm_head_loss becomes flashinfer.experimental.cake_lm_head_det_loss; its generated sources, kernels and libraries are named cake_lm_head_det_loss_*;
the public entries become chunked_lm_head_det_{loss,logprob,preload,support_logprob,support_kl}, and the backend's functions and classes get the same det names.
Compatibility: every previous name stays as an alias of the same object, including load_cake_lm_head_loss_module in cake_jit, cake_backend and cake_backend_opt_in. The previous package path stays as a shim package whose modules are the det package's modules. The FLASHINFER_CAKE_LM_HEAD_LOSS_* environment variables keep their names.
Performance is unchanged: the generated programs differ from main only in their names, and their SASS is identical to main's on sm_100a and sm_103a.
The backend has one data type (BF16) and covers the CE and policy losses, the log-probability entry and the support-set log-probability and KL entries; it ships on sm_100a and sm_103a.
Merge after #8054, which carries the pre-commit exclusions for both package paths, and after the companion internal export change; a final commit will re-render the package from the published generator revision before merge (build.json plus unchanged-SASS source updates from the generator).

New Features
Added deterministic, chunked language-model head loss and log-probability operations, along with candidate-restricted log-probabilities and KL calculations.
Added fast and memory-budgeted backend options, including valid-row controls and workspace reporting.
Compatibility
Preserved legacy API and package paths as aliases to the deterministic entry points.
Documentation
Clarified determinism guarantees and updated guidance for the APIs, naming conventions, and tuning options.
… backend
The chunked LM-head + loss backend is deterministic: for fixed inputs,
hardware, chunk plan and initial accumulation buffers, its forward and
backward give bitwise-identical results run to run. Its names now say so.
- The package moves to flashinfer/experimental/cake_lm_head_det_loss. Its
generated sources, programs, kernel symbols and libraries, re-rendered by
the Cake exporter, are cake_lm_head_det_loss_<20 hex> (csrc/
cake_lm_head_det_loss/, kernel_cake_lm_head_det_loss_<20 hex>); the program
digests are unchanged, so only the prefix changes.
- Public entries: chunked_lm_head_det_loss, chunked_lm_head_det_logprob,
chunked_lm_head_det_preload, chunked_lm_head_det_support_logprob and
chunked_lm_head_det_support_kl. Backend: prepare_lm_head_det_loss,
validate_lm_head_det_inputs, lm_head_det_loss_workspace_size,
LmHeadDetLossRunner, ChunkedLmHeadDet{Loss,Logprob}Function,
SupportDetLogprobFunction and load_cake_lm_head_det_loss_module.
- The previous names, and the previous package path module by module, stay
as aliases of the same objects; tests check the identity.
- The manifest checker, package data, pre-commit excludes, tests, the
benchmark, docs and docs/training_backend_names.md follow.
Unchanged: the FLASHINFER_CAKE_LM_HEAD_LOSS_* variables, the registry's
binding profile id lm_head_loss_v1, and the test and benchmark file names.

Walkthrough
The LM-head loss APIs and Cake backend now use deterministic names. The change adds candidate-support log-probability and KL operations, generated build and kernel identities, and compatibility aliases for earlier public and package names.

Summary
Backend build and kernel registry flashinfer/experimental/cake_lm_head_det_loss/{README.md,build.json,cake_build.py,cake_jit.py}, flashinfer/experimental/cake_lm_head_det_loss/__init__.py
Adds a manifest-driven build and loader, an architecture-specific program registry, and deterministic-named package documentation.
Deterministic backend execution and memory planning flashinfer/experimental/cake_lm_head_det_loss/cake_backend.py, flashinfer/experimental/cake_lm_head_det_loss/cake_backend_opt_in.py
Adds deterministic loss and log-probability execution, reference calculations, prepared runners, autograd, and optional memory-budget planning and recomputation.
Adds candidate-support log-probability and forward-KL APIs with reference and Cake implementations, validation, autograd, and memory reporting.
Generated kernel and binding identities flashinfer/experimental/cake_lm_head_det_loss/csrc/cake_lm_head_det_loss/*
Renames generated kernel, binding, and shim identities to the det_loss stem. The summarized kernel parameters and launch behavior are unchanged.
Public API cutover and compatibility flashinfer/chunked_lm_head.py, flashinfer/experimental/cake_lm_head_loss/*, pyproject.toml, docs/training_backend_names.md, CLAUDE.md, benchmarks/bench_cake_lm_head_loss.py, scripts/check_cake_build_manifests.py, tests/experimental/*cake_lm_head*, tests/test_helpers/cake_package.py
Routes public calls through deterministic-named entries and retains the previous public names and experimental package paths as aliases. Updates packaging, documentation, benchmarks, manifest checks, and tests.
This PR renames the chunked LM-head loss backend to deterministic names and keeps the old names as aliases. The behavior is unchanged, apart from a pre-existing transient memory spike on the first call for a new binding, which can briefly raise peak GPU memory. This is a small follow-up and does not block the merge.

Use template-only preparation for cache-miss bindings.
On a cache miss, prepare_lm_head_det_loss allocates the workspace and gradient buffers before _Binding.from_runner deletes the runner. The binding keeps only workspace-related tensors. Its forward method allocates new dx_acc and dw_acc buffers, and it does not use the runner’s dx_out or dw_out. Under the default fused dW mode, dw_acc is absent only for a one-chunk plan.
The 2*T*H + 2*V*H estimate is incomplete. For a multi-chunk BF16 plan, the listed accumulators and outputs alone consume 6*T*H + 6*V*H bytes, plus the workspace and the binding-owned workspace allocation. The exact allocator peak depends on reuse. This behavior also predates the rename.
Port the arena-backed _template_only path from cake_backend_opt_in.py into this module and use it when creating the cached binding.
