python minimal_magnum_app.pyand./build/utils/viewer/viewer(src/utils/viewer/minimal_magnum_app.cpp) are roughly identical. Both create a window and then flash red-and-black by clearing the framebuffer in a particular way. Both work on my Macbook and my Fedora laptop.python minimal_magnum_app.pycrashes on our Ubuntu cloud machine that we're trying to use for Screen Sharing (via vino).
