Translation Quality Review
PR: #18241
Branch HEAD: 1a1023f
Languages: ar, bn, cs, de, es, fr, hi, id, it, ja, ko, mr, pl, pt-br, ru, sw, ta, te, tr, uk, ur, vi, zh, zh-tw (24 total)
Files reviewed: 24 (src/intl/{lang}/common.json)
Date: 2026-05-20
Fixes: No critical issues found
Scope
This PR adds a single new i18n key, quantum-resistance ("Quantum resistance"), across 24 locales, and removes site-title (which was a no-op brand-name passthrough rendering "ethereum.org" verbatim). The .manifests/ changes are pipeline hash bumps and not translation content.
Because scope is one short technical term per language, the review used one focused agent per language (24 parallel reviewers, Sonnet 4.6). No critical issues found in any language. All flagged items are stylistic/terminology preferences. The PR is safe to ship as-is.

Warnings worth a maintainer look
These are all suggestions, not blockers. No build risk, no semantic inversion, no script contamination.
- mr "क्वांटम प्रतिकार" -> consider "क्वांटम प्रतिरोध". "प्रतिरोध" is more precise for technical/cryptographic resistance and matches hi ("प्रतिरोध") and bn ("প্রতিরোধ") for the same key.
- ru "Квантовая устойчивость" -> consider "Квантовая стойкость". "стойкость" is the established term in ГОСТ R 34.10 and Russian cryptography literature.
- tr "Kuantum direnci" -> consider "Kuantum dayanıklılığı". "dayanıklılık" is the conventional Turkish cybersecurity term for post-quantum properties.
- sw "Ukinzani wa kwanta" -> consider "Ukinzani wa quantum". Existing sw strings in page-roadmap.json and page-trillion-dollar-security.json use the unassimilated "quantum" loanword.
- vi "Kháng lượng tử" -> consider "Tính kháng lượng tử" (nominal). As a standalone UI label, the nominal form reads more naturally than the verb-phrase form.
- zh "抗量子" vs zh-tw "抗量子性" - these two diverge for the same key. Either is acceptable, but the cross-locale split is worth noting.
- bn, hi, id, it, ko, ta, te, ur - each has a minor stylistic alternative noted by the per-language reviewer, but the chosen form is acceptable and widely understood.
None are required for the PR to land. They are useful inputs if the translation team wants to converge cross-language terminology in a follow-up.
Note on the site-title removal
Removing the site-title key (value "ethereum.org") across all 24 locales is a no-op from a translation-quality perspective: every locale was rendering the brand verbatim.
Auto-fix note
This review ran in the GitHub Actions CI workflow, which is not currently set up to commit fixes back to the PR branch. None of the findings are critical anyway, so there is nothing that requires fixing.
To apply suggestions locally, run /review-translations --pr=18241 on the PR branch and selectively edit src/intl/{lang}/common.json per the warnings above.
Detailed per-language scoring breakdowns will be posted in a follow-up comment.

Per-language detail dumps (follow-up to translation review)This supplements the review at #18241 (review) — verbose per-language scoring breakdowns. ar (10.0/10) — clean
"المقاومة الكمومية" is the standard Arabic technical term; clean Arabic Unicode, no bidi-control artifacts, appropriate nominal register. bn (9.2/10)
"কোয়ান্টাম প্রতিরোধ" is a correct, natural rendering. Optional polish: some Bengali technical texts append "ক্ষমতা" for added precision — style preference only. cs (10.0/10) — clean
"Kvantová odolnost" uses the native-root "odolnost" (preferred in Czech technical writing) over the borrowed "rezistence". Spot-on. de (9.6/10)
"Quantenresistenz" is a well-formed German compound and matches the term used elsewhere on the site (page-roadmap, page-trillion-dollar-security). "Quantensicherheit" is a marginal alternative but no change needed. es (10.0/10) — clean
"Resistencia cuántica" — standard term in Spanish-language cryptography literature. fr (10.0/10) — clean
"Résistance quantique" — matches ANSSI / NIST French-language conventions. hi (9.0/10)
"क्वांटम प्रतिरोध" — "क्वांटम" is the standard transliteration; "प्रतिरोध" works (more physics/electrical than infosec, but widely understood). "प्रतिरोधकता" is an alternative. id (8.8/10)
"Ketahanan kuantum" — broadly understood; "Resistensi kuantum" is preferred in some Indonesian cryptography/security texts but the current form is acceptable. it (9.0/10)
"Resistenza quantistica" — acceptable; "Resistenza quantica" is more typical in Italian cryptography texts. Minor stylistic preference. ja (10.0/10) — clean
"量子耐性" — established Japanese technical term, used consistently in academic and industry literature. ko (9.0/10)
"양자 내성" — accurate; KISA / Korean cryptography standards more commonly use the compound "양자내성" (no space). Either is intelligible. mr (7.8/10) — strongest warning
"क्वांटम प्रतिकार" — "प्रतिकार" ("opposition/counter-action") is intelligible but "प्रतिरोध" (used in hi and bn for the same key) is more precise for technical/cryptographic resistance. pl (10.0/10) — clean
"Odporność kwantowa" — standard Polish technical term; "odporność" is preferred over "rezystencja" (which is reserved for electrical resistance). pt-br (10.0/10) — clean
"Resistência quântica" — standard pt-BR term in academic and industry literature. ru (8.2/10)
"Квантовая устойчивость" — intelligible; "Квантовая стойкость" is the term used in ГОСТ R 34.10 and Russian cryptography literature. Worth a follow-up. sw (8.6/10)
"Ukinzani wa kwanta" — accurate, but other sw strings in this codebase use the unassimilated "quantum" loanword ("Ukinzani wa quantum"). Inconsistency, not an error. ta (8.6/10)
"குவாண்டம் எதிர்ப்பு" — "எதிர்ப்பு" is general resistance; "எதிர்நிற்றல்" would be more technically precise but is not standardized. te (9.0/10)
"క్వాంటం నిరోధకత" — correct; "ప్రతిరోధకత" is slightly more prevalent in formal Telugu science/tech writing. tr (8.2/10)
"Kuantum direnci" — "direnç" is generic resistance; TÜBİTAK / Turkish cybersecurity literature tends to use "dayanıklılık" for post-quantum properties. uk (10.0/10) — clean
"Квантова стійкість" — standard Ukrainian cryptographic term. ur (9.2/10)
"کوانٹم مزاحمت" — natural Urdu rendering; clean script, no bidi-control artifacts. Parallel to Arabic "المقاومة" choice. vi (8.2/10)
"Kháng lượng tử" — intelligible verb-phrase form. For a UI label, the nominal "Tính kháng lượng tử" would read more naturally. zh (8.5/10)
"抗量子" — common as a modifier (抗量子密码); "抗量子性" would be more precise as a standalone noun label. zh-tw uses the longer form for the same key. zh-tw (8.6/10)
"抗量子性" — correct; existing zh-tw prose (page-trillion-dollar-security.json) uses the shorter "抗量子". Either is fine; flagged only as cross-file consistency. |
Use the noun form (with the nominalizing suffix) to match zh-tw and provide better register for breadcrumb/page-title context. The bare form is valid as a modifier but reads less naturally as a standalone noun. Translation review
Reviewed all 24 target languages for the single new UI string "quantum-resistance": "Quantum resistance" (breadcrumb label, JSON only).
Method: queried ETHGlossary /filter for "quantum resistance" / "quantum" / "post-quantum" across all 24 languages — no glossary entry exists for these terms (532 terms scanned), so translations were evaluated on linguistic merits rather than against an authoritative source.
Findings: 0 critical issues. All translations are linguistically standard, semantically accurate, and use the appropriate cryptographic/scientific register for a breadcrumb label. No MDX syntax concerns (UI JSON, no markup), no script contamination, no semantic inversions, no placeholder text, no broken hrefs. Manifest entries updated cleanly across all locales (sourceCommitSha → 71ae652e5f).
Fix applied in this PR: zh 抗量子 → 抗量子性 (commit 9b9c1f4) to align noun register with zh-tw's 抗量子性. Both forms were valid, but the noun form reads more naturally as a standalone breadcrumb label.
Remaining stylistic note (non-blocking): mr uses क्वांटम प्रतिकार (quantum counteraction) while hi uses क्वांटम प्रतिरोध (quantum resistance). Both are valid Marathi vocabulary; harmonizing on प्रतिरोध would improve Indo-Aryan cross-language consistency, but it's not required for merge.
Confidence: high on cs, de, es, fr, it, ja, ko, pl, pt-br, ru, tr, uk, vi, id, zh, zh-tw. Medium on ar, hi, ur. Lower on bn, mr, sw, ta, te (assessment based on standard scientific/transliteration patterns; native review would strengthen the call for these).
Approved.
