[UI] Unique count over time graph

Ability to display unique count for a particular field over time. I think it's possible via ES facet queries

This feature is not currently supported by elasticsearch. Counting uniques over a distributed dataset is rather challenging, we're working on solutions. I'll leave this ticket open, but really it requires Elasticsearch support.

The ask of this ticket is for unique count of a field over time, not unique terms per bucket.

Is there a way or future plan to achieve showing or plotting "unique terms per bucket" @rashidkpc mentioned above in Kibana?

Any updates on this functionality? The "unique terms per bucket" comes in handy when measuring the actual active sessions (I have a log of thousands of events linked to a session).

I was actually looking at this and it looks like the elastic.js library would need to be upgraded. I was playing around with this and it looks like they've made a breaking change that pulls the client out. The doSearch method is no longer in the Request object.

Here is the change I was talking about. It looks like elastic.js now wants you to use the elasticsearch-js client as the transport layer.
