[APM] Bug: APM transactions page crashing

Elasticsearch version:
8.3.0-SNAPSHOT

Describe the bug:
On Transactions page, when Trace Samples component tries to load, the page crashes due to the fact that duration in transaction and span objects are undefined

Steps to reproduce:

1. Log in to Kibana
2. Navigate to APM Traces (considering that there is data)
3. Click on any item
4. Wait a few seconds

Expected behavior:
The page shouldn't crash

Afaik transaction.duration.us is required. How did you generate and ingest the data?

I was now able to reproduce this with our standard dataset, so it seems like a general error. Thanks for the heads up!

It looks like transaction.duration.us and span.duration.us were renamed to event.duration. This is related to elastic/apm-server#5999 and elastic/apm-server#7261.

It seems like a pipeline to populate the legacy fields was not created.

I had just created a new environment using oblt-cli tool. I didn't do anything special in terms of configuration. Do you need the server that I was using?

Thanks for info. I don't think we need anything more at this point. It looks like an issue with the ingest pipeline.

This was a temporary, internal problem. Closing since this seems to have been fixed.
