contourpy is one of the extensions provided by matplotlib. I see that as one of the other items required in vscentrum/vsc-software-stack#327 - so it may be better to provide both together instead of having this as a standalone easyconfig.

It is required contourpy v1.2.0 - it can not be in exts_list since it needs meson>=1.2.0 as a builddep and there is already loaded meson v1.1.1.
But I will try it first with contourpy v1.1.0 - hope it will be enough.
