GarageGuard is a single-door ESP8266 based garage door monitor with active OPEN and CLOSED state monitoring.
It's based on marthoc's GarHAge project (https://github.com/marthoc/GarHAge) and the Motorized_MQTT_Blinds project from thehookkup (https://github.com/thehookup/Motorized_MQTT_Blinds)
GarageGuard, as a fork of GarHAge, is almost completely compatible with Home Assistant's "MQTT Cover" platform. It responds to OPEN and CLOSE commands, and reports "open", "closed", "opening", "closing", or "stopped" states to Home Assistant.
For more in-detail setup information, look for GarHAge on Github, as marthoc's writeup is extensive.
