According to the document on Two-factor authentication on GitLab:

When 2FA is enabled, you can’t use your password to authenticate with Git over HTTPS or the GitLab API. You can use a personal access token instead.

Update the part of GitLab in README.md to remind users to use PAT when 2FA is enabled.
