… seam (B) The resolved tier is now derived from whether the SLM backend itself produced the segment (ProseSlmResult.usedSlm), not from text inequality — a heuristic-fallback also shrinks the text, so deriving the tier from inequality mislabeled a fallback as 'slm'. The prewarm trigger fires fire-and-forget from the save path (enable transition) and once per process from the cold read path, both via maybePrewarmUltraSlmOnConfig. The nightly-release-green workflow and /green-prs inherit the expanded coverage automatically (they invoke this script), so cycle drift is now surfaced continuously and the release PR is green on its first CI run. What this does
Makes the
ultracompression mode a two-tier mode: Tier-B (SLM / LLMLingua-2 ONNX) when opted in and available, Tier-A (heuristic) as the always-available fallback — gated by an explicit operator opt-in. Thellmlinguaengine already existed; this wires theultramode to it with a robust fail-open story.Decisions honored
