There was a problem hiding this comment.
I spent a while poking through the changelog and the listed breaking changes for 5.0.0 don't appear to affect us, plus a number of of them were reverted in subsequent minor/patch releases and then added deprecation warnings. So I think we'll be fine with this, plus unit/smoke tests provide some measure of safety.
