Test with latest Newtonsoft JSON and bump compatibility

The Newtonsoft JSON library has advanced in version since this package was last released. I do not believe that it has introduced any changes which break functionality that I use, but they have bumped major version numbers more than once.

This ticket is to test the library using the latest Newtonsoft release and - if it works - relax the dependency and re-release.
