Exploring Surface Processes: How to Build Coupled Models

A hands-on workshop on model coupling at the 2019 AGU Fall Meeting

Instructors

Before the workshop

  1. Sign up for an account (see below): We'll do all of our computational work on the CSDMS JupyterHub. This means that we won't have to spend time installing software during the workshop.
  2. Review the basics of working with Python and Jupyter Notebook: There are many online resources. Coding experience is not a prerequisite for this workshop and we will explain core concepts as we go along.
  3. Background reading: Read the Hobley et al., 2017 open source paper about Landlab

Requirements

  • Laptop
  • Web browser
  • Coffee (optional, but recommended)

Get Started

  1. Create an account on the CSDMS JupyterHub
  2. Provide a username and password - it can be whatever you like
  3. Wait for authorization - this will happen the morning of the workshop
  4. Get the workshop tutorials

Users are authorized through the JupyterHub authorization panel
