Currently the documentation is implemented in Gitbook. While this provides a simple UI for non-technical content editors, it introduces issues associated with artifacts in markdown, vendor lock-in, integration dependencies etc.

It is desired to implement the new docs site using docusaurus, as done by competitors and large open-source projects.
