This is hopefully (🤞) the last release candidate before we can cut a v1.0.0. This needs #826 to be merged first since that has a lot of the final changes we want to get in. Ideally, #835 would also be merged so that we can try it out as far as an automated way of publishing the binary for the test runner as an artifact on the GitHub release.
