I just wanted to let you know that I linted all conda-recipes in your PR (recipe/recipe.yaml) and found it was in an excellent condition.

By patching the CMake logic, it's possible to bypass the git requirement and use source.url instead of source.git. I also added notes in the recipe to explain things.

It's working, but it's not ideal.

The best would be to get a fix for conda-forge/conda-smithy#2239.
