I was working on my own custom nodes and for convenience I removed it from the custom nodes folder and started developing it. But I couldn't find any way to load my custom nodes from outside the custom nodes folder. Please let me know if there is a working method.

Hi, this can be implemented fairly easily, I did so for a recent PR.

when you launch you just add --custom-nodes-directory "custom/path/to/nodes" and it will redirect the custom nodes being read to the new folder.
I hope you get some use out of this and that it will be added eventually.

You can achieve this using extra_model_paths.yaml

To load extra custom nodes from outside the custom nodes folder, ex. /home/username/my_custom_nodes/, create such extra_model_paths.yaml at your ComfyUI installation directory:

config_name:
  base_path: /home/username/
  custom_nodes: my_custom_nodes/

If it applies successfully, you should see Adding extra search path custom_nodes /home/username/my_custom_nodes in the terminal
