This BOSH release is a compliament/extension to https://github.com/FreightTrain/sensu-client-boshrelease to provide a set of useful sensu client plugins.
For any given BOSH deployment you want to monitor add the following sections:
To the releases:
section add:
releases:
- {name: sensu-client, version: latest}
- {name: general-sensu-monitors, version: latest}
Add the following to each job's templates:
section:
templates:
- {release: sensu-client, name: sensu-client}
- {release: general-sensu-monitors, name: general-sensu-plugins}
To use this bosh release, first upload it to your bosh:
bosh target BOSH_HOST
git clone https://github.com/cloudfoundry-community/general-sensu-monitors-boshrelease.git
cd general-sensu-monitors-boshrelease
bosh upload release releases/general-sensu-monitors-1.yml
For bosh-lite, you can quickly create a deployment manifest & deploy a cluster:
templates/make_manifest warden
bosh -n deploy
For AWS EC2, create a single VM:
templates/make_manifest aws-ec2
bosh -n deploy
For AWS & Openstack, the default deployment assumes there is a default
security group. If you wish to use a different security group(s) then you can pass in additional configuration when running make_manifest
above.
Create a file my-networking.yml
:
---
networks:
- name: general-sensu-monitors1
type: dynamic
cloud_properties:
security_groups:
- general-sensu-monitors
Where - general-sensu-monitors
means you wish to use an existing security group called general-sensu-monitors
.
You now suffix this file path to the make_manifest
command:
templates/make_manifest openstack-nova my-networking.yml
bosh -n deploy
