📃 Iteration 54 roadmap

This post outlines our targets for the upcoming iteration. The goal is to provide a summary of where we are going.

New features / enhancements

• Revision history: make it possible to continue working on previously unsaved revisions after the editor was re-initialized. Note, that currently, this feature does not work for real-time editing integrations that use an editor bundle uploaded to Cloud Services.
• Typing improvements (migration to beforeInput, better IME support) – this will span across a few iterations.
• Migration to TypeScript – this will span across a few iterations.
• Accessibility improvements – this will span across a few iterations.
• Track changes integration with new features: code blocks, HTML embed, document lists, styles dropdown, image URL balloon. This will be released gradually.
• Integration with the CKBox service.

Bug fixes

• Document lists stabilization – this will span across a few iterations
• Styles dropdown stabilization – this will span across a few iterations

Finally, some more bug fixes and minor improvements are planned for the 54th iteration. See the list of issues closed in the current iteration for more details.

Dates

The code freeze is planned for Jun 22nd, 2022, followed by releasing npm packages on Jun 29th, 2022.

Please keep in mind that these plans are subject to change, and even though we put all our energy into delivering all the items mentioned above, the iteration plan may change at any point.
