This PR addresses the 50 maintainability issues identified by SonarCloud static code analysis in the Refitter codebase. The changes focus on eliminating code duplication, fixing variable name shadowing, and improving overall code quality while maintaining full backward compatibility.

Identified Issues and Plan:

• Applied initial code formatting baseline
• Variable name shadows method name: Fix generateCode variable names that shadow GenerateCode() method in test files
• Typo corrections: Fix spelling mistakes like seperator -> separator in MSBuild task
• Code duplication: Extract common patterns like CreateSwaggerFile into shared utilities
• Missing documentation: Add XML documentation where appropriate
• Simplify conditional expressions: Optimize boolean logic where possible
• Improve naming conventions: Use consistent and descriptive variable names
• Validate all changes: Ensure builds pass and tests continue to work
• Clean up temporary files: Remove accidentally committed build scripts

Progress:

Fixed variable name shadowing (50+ instances):

• Renamed generateCode variables to generatedCode throughout test files to avoid shadowing the GenerateCode() method
• This resolves a major category of SonarCloud maintainability issues

Fixed typos:

• Corrected seperator to separator in MSBuild task

Eliminated code duplication (40+ instances):

• Created SwaggerFileHelper utility class to centralize temporary file creation logic
• Removed duplicate CreateSwaggerFile methods from 40+ test files
• Refactored all test files to use the shared utility
• This significantly reduces code duplication and improves maintainability

Added missing XML documentation:

• Added comprehensive XML documentation to key MSBuild task methods
• Documented GetExpectedGeneratedFiles, GetInstalledDotnetRuntimes, ExtractJsonStringValue, and ExtractJsonBoolValue methods
• Improves code maintainability and developer experience

Simplified conditional expressions:

• Optimized boolean logic in MSBuild task file generation
• Simplified generateMultipleFiles assignment to use logical OR operator instead of if-statement

Cleaned up temporary files:

• Removed accidentally committed dotnet-install.sh build script
• Added install scripts to .gitignore to prevent future accidental commits

Technical Details:

SwaggerFileHelper utility:

• Located at src/Refitter.Tests/TestUtilities/SwaggerFileHelper.cs
• Provides centralized method for creating temporary OpenAPI/Swagger files in tests
• Eliminates 500+ lines of duplicated code across test files

Documentation improvements:

• All public and internal methods in MSBuild task now have proper XML documentation
• Clear parameter descriptions and return value documentation

Impact:

This PR addresses the vast majority of SonarCloud maintainability issues while maintaining full backward compatibility and ensuring all tests continue to pass. The changes focus on code quality improvements without affecting functionality.

Approach:

Making minimal, focused changes to maintain code stability while addressing maintainability concerns. Each change has been validated with builds and tests.

The dotnet-install.sh file was accidentally committed during the initial .NET SDK setup for the build process. I've removed it and added install scripts to .gitignore to prevent future accidental commits.
