What

CodeBuddy International's outbound turn reporting (POST /v2/report + POST /v1/traces), as an opt-in side channel, together with the codebuddy-intl protocol work it depends on.

The maintainer asked for the reporting to be its own PR because it is a different capability from the protocol fixes: it makes OmniRoute talk to a provider endpoint the operator did not ask for, carrying the account identity. This PR therefore stays on the reporting; the executor alignment it builds on (identity headers, request body, /v3/config catalog merge, dated 429) is what this branch already carries and is reviewed as the substrate for it, not as a new decision.

Opt-in, off by default

CODEBUDDY_TELEMETRY_ENABLED is a feature flag (DB override > env > definition default, category runtime), not an env-only switch, and it is off unless the operator turns it on.

The name follows the two conventions already in featureFlagDefinitions.ts: no OMNIROUTE_ prefix, because the 20 prefixed flags are proxy infrastructure (auth, MCP, control-plane, egress, healthchecks, lanes) while provider-scoped features are plain — ANTIGRAVITY_ACCOUNT_LEASE_ENABLED, KIRO_TOOL_CALL_REPAIR_ENABLED, OPENCODE_V2_CLIENT_FINGERPRINT_ENABLED; and the _ENABLED suffix, which the 44 boolean flags use. The flag key is the env var (process.env[key]), so the variable is renamed with it.

The previous env var (OMNIROUTE_CODEBUDDY_TELEMETRY) defaulted to ON, which is exactly the wrong default for a side channel that carries the account identity.

I1 — the report describes the stream, not the dispatch

usage and the first-token instant do not exist when execute() returns: the CLI requests stream_options.include_usage, so both live inside the SSE events. The old code read (result as {usage?}).usage, a field ExecutorExecuteResult does not have, so the report always shipped an empty usage block and no first-token time. Plausible, but false.

The response now goes through a pass-through tap (turnObservation.ts) that:

  • forwards the same bytes to the client, without buffering or reordering;
  • stamps the first chunk carrying content/reasoning/tool-call output;
  • takes the last usage block the stream declared;
  • emits the report at stream end (or from cancel()), and a turn the consumer abandons is reported as cancelled instead of being counted as an upstream failure.

The execute() -> reportTurn path is covered end to end: a stubbed upstream streams SSE, the tapped response is consumed the way chatCore does, and the assertions are on the bytes that reach /v2/report and /v1/traces.

machineId: only when the connection carries one

The captured CLI does send a machineId, but it is the CLI host's UUID; OmniRoute has no such value for an account. The old fallback invented omniroute-<platform>-<arch>, which both outed the proxy and exposed the host it runs on. The field is now omitted instead of fabricated.

Fingerprint

x-stainless-os/arch/runtime-version are derived from the real runtime (providerHeaderProfiles.ts), not from the capture's Windows/x64/v24.14.1 host. x-stainless-lang and x-stainless-package-version stay pinned: they identify the SDK, not the machine.

Note on the transport

The captured plugin_status event shows a body that is a flat array of events, while this code sends the ReportBatch envelope (eventCode at the root, events[]). Both shapes coexist across CLI versions (2.175.0 vs earlier) and the envelope is verified against the live gateway; the transport was not changed in this PR so that this change does not get mixed into the I1 fix. If the maintainer prefers aligning it to the flat array, that is a change scoped to telemetryTransport.ts.

Rebased on the current release/v3.8.53

The branch is now merged up to be2f947265 and git merge-tree be2f947265 HEAD reports zero conflicts. Two incoming changes needed semantic resolutions rather than a textual union:

This PR's I4 catalog work is not superseded by #18516: codebuddy-intl-catalog-merge-route.test.ts still covers what neither #18018 nor #18516 touch — the route keeping curated context windows, capabilities and curated-only models the gateway does not publish.

Relationship to open #18322

#18322 (conversation identity) changes the same two files and fixes the text-derived conversation key that exists in the base today (c7449f417e / #16922). This branch refactors that logic (resolveCorrelationContext + conversationKeyFromBody) without changing its behaviour, and deliberately does not pre-empt the maintainer's decision there: when #18322 lands, the collision is textual and its semantics apply on top. No dependency: this PR is mergeable on its own and can land before or after it.

Tests

  • codebuddy-intl-execute-report-turn.test.ts (5) — end-to-end execute() -> reportTurn, including the cancelled turn and the flag-off case (not one byte leaves).
  • codebuddy-intl-turn-observation.test.ts (11) — the tap: identical bytes, first-token, last usage, single close.
  • codebuddy-intl-report-turn.test.ts (10) — fail-closed opt-in, machineId not synthesised.
  • codebuddy-intl-telemetry*.test.ts — envelope and transport.
  • codebuddy-intl-catalog*.test.ts, curated-provider-custom-models, authoritative-provider-listing, model-listing-capability-5420, feature-flags-settings, server-owned-tool-loop-flag — the merge resolutions above.

48/48 on the telemetry files alone, 317/317 across every file this PR and the merge touch (all codebuddy-intl-* plus the listing/flag suites), typecheck:core clean, check:env-doc-sync clean, check:docs-sync clean.

The changelog fragment was renamed from 18098-… to 18398-… so it points at the PR that actually ships it (#18098 was closed in favour of this one).

⚠️ base-red inherited: release/v3.8.53 tip is red independently of this PR (tokenharbor/claude-haiku-5.5:free: missing evidence plus the check-api-typecheck ratchet) — the failures are tracked in #17219. check:docs-counts also fails on base for the 66 i18n READMEs still claiming 213 migrations against 219 SQL files; neither is touched here.

The `codebuddy-intl` executor emulated the CodeBuddy **IDE** profile, while the
official client for that gateway is the **CLI** (`CLI/2.175.0`). The wire shape
had drifted on every surface that matters: identity headers, request body,
model catalog, telemetry and rate-limit handling.

Request identity (context.ts, cliProfile.ts)

  - One captured CLI profile (`CLI/2.175.0 CodeBuddy/2.175.0`, `X-IDE-Type:
CLI`, `X-Agent-*`, Stainless SDK fingerprint) is now the single source for
the executor, the report envelope and the OTLP resource.
  - The identifier families are modelled separately, because conflating them was
the actual bug: `X-Conversation-ID` and `baggage.codebuddy.session_id` are
    UUIDv7, while `X-Conversation-Request-ID` / `X-Root-Request-ID` share 32-hex
and `X-Conversation-Message-ID` (mirrored on `X-Request-ID`) is fresh per
step. `X-Trace-ID` is NOT the root request id. A per-purpose policy
    (`PURPOSE_POLICY`) covers `conversation`, `summary`, `prompt_suggestion` and
`conversation_topic`; the main turn's request id is the root one, which is
    what makes `X-Root-Request-ID` meaningful.
  - The operation context is keyed on the request body via `WeakMap`, not held
in an instance field: executors are cached singletons
(`open-sse/executors/registry.ts`), so a field would leak identifiers
between concurrent turns and let request B's ids describe request A.

Request body (body.ts)

  - Applies the captured contract: `stream`, `stream_options.include_usage`,
    `cache_retention: "long"` and `extra_vars.harnessMetadata` as a JSON string.
Side channels the translators attach (non-enumerable/symbol-keyed, e.g.
`_toolNameMap`) survive the copy — dropping them broke tool-call recovery.

Model catalog (catalog.ts, catalogFetch.ts, codebuddyIntlCatalog.ts)

  - `GET /v3/config?repos[]=` is the authoritative catalog. It needs the
account's bearer token, so it is fetched at runtime, cached per account with
a TTL, and merged into the curated registry list. A fetch failure is never
fatal: the curated list stays authoritative.
  - The curated registry is now aligned with that catalog (25 named models: 5
stale entries removed, 8 added); the remainder arrives at runtime.
  - `codebuddy-intl` is no longer "curated-models-only": the route-facing hop in
`open-sse/services/codebuddyIntlCatalog.ts` wires the catalog to model
discovery, since `src/app/**` may not import `executors/**` directly.

Telemetry (telemetry.ts, telemetryTransport.ts, reportTurn.ts)

  - Synthetic events and spans are built from the real execution (ids, timings,
tokens, status) and really POSTed to `/v2/report` and `/v1/traces`, because
reporting ids the gateway never saw would be worse than not reporting.
  - Strictly a side channel: bounded timeout, `Promise.allSettled`, never
throws, never awaited on the response path, opt-out via
    `OMNIROUTE_CODEBUDDY_TELEMETRY=0`.

Dated 429 (retryAfterJson.ts, lockout.ts)

  - The shared hint parser now reads CodeBuddy's `{code, msg, data:{resetTime}}`
envelope, so a dated 429 reaches the central cooldown
    (`accountFallback` -> `provider_connections.rate_limited_until`) instead of
degrading to the generic backoff and being retried before the unlock date.
    The `google.rpc.RetryInfo` shapes keep precedence.
  - `lockout.ts` only classifies the response. It deliberately does not
implement a second freeze: two sources of truth for lockout can disagree
about when an account is eligible again.

Login (codebuddyDeviceAuth.ts)

  - Device-auth polls send an empty body, treat `11217` as
`authorization_pending`, and surface a real failure from `data.error`, which
    is what `pollForToken` consumes.

Verification

  - 223 CodeBuddy unit tests green; 100 tests across the OAuth, model-listing,
    provider-constants and error-envelope suites green; `typecheck:core` clean;
ESLint clean on every touched file (with the repo suppressions); Prettier
    applied.
  - The model-listing suite caught a real regression from the catalog change
(`model-listing-capability-5420`) before this commit; its expectation is
    updated with the reason.

Protocol verification pending

  - No captured payload exists for `/v3/config` entry keys, the refresh
contract, or the exact dated-429 envelope, so those parsers accept a list of
plausible spellings and are marked `// UNVERIFIED` in the source.
  - `/v1/traces` is sent as OTLP/HTTP JSON (the capture was protobuf) to avoid a
protobuf dependency; a rejection is a non-fatal send failure. Also
    `// UNVERIFIED`.
The CLI body always sets stream: true (the gateway rejects a non-streaming upstream call with code 11101), but the registry did not declare forceStream. For a stream: false client chatCore therefore buffered the forced SSE with response.text() and logged it as an unexpected event stream on every non-streaming request, instead of draining it through the byte-capped SSE reader.

This mirrors cline/clinepass, which declare forceStream for exactly this reason. Pinned by a registry test so the flag cannot drift away from the body contract.
OMNIROUTE_CODEBUDDY_TELEMETRY was invisible to check:env-doc-sync: the gate matches only the literal process.env.MEMBER form, while the switch was read through a dynamic env[NAME] lookup. The opt-out therefore sat outside the documented env contract and nothing would have flagged its removal.

Read it in the literal form inside the default argument (so the function stays injectable for tests and the value is still resolved per call) and document it in .env.example and docs/reference/ENVIRONMENT.md. The gate now counts it: 677 -> 678 variables.
A live run against www.codebuddy.ai with a real account proved two things the
captures could not: /v1/traces accepts the OTLP/HTTP JSON encoding (HTTP 200),
and /v2/report rejects the batch with '10001:eventCode is empty or not string'
because it validates eventCode, reportDelay and a numeric timestamp at the TOP
level of the envelope, not inside events[]. The batch now carries them, and both
endpoints answer 200. The same run showed the curated lineup had drifted from
/v3/config: gemini-3.5-flash, minimax-m3 and step-5-preview are no longer
served, so they are dropped.
…erive the host fingerprint

Three review items on the same surface: the operation identity the gateway
sees, the catalog the picker offers, and the client fingerprint.

I2 - the operation context now follows the retries of a turn.
`buildHeaders()` runs once per upstream attempt with the SAME body object, and
a plain `WeakMap.set` made every retry replay the first attempt's identity:
same span, `attempt: 1`, and `x-stainless-retry-count: 0` on every dispatch. The
gateway therefore saw a single attempt, and the telemetry described a turn that
never happened. `deriveRetryContext()` advances the attempt, allocates a fresh
span parented by the failed one, and keeps the conversation/trace so the
attempts still group into one turn. A second DISPATCH of the same body (a
deliberate re-send, e.g. an agent loop) keeps minting a fresh message identity,
which is what the existing isolation test pins.

I4 - the catalog merge reaches the route.
`mergeCatalogWithCurated()` existed and was unit-tested, but nothing called it:
`discoverCodeBuddyIntlModels` mapped the gateway list straight through, so the
first successful `/v3/config` fetch REPLACED the curated rows in the synced
store with gateway-only rows. Every curated context window, output cap and
vision/reasoning flag was dropped from then on, and curated models the gateway
omitted disappeared from the picker. The route now passes the curated registry
in, the service merges before persistence, and the dead helpers
(`resolveCodeBuddyModels`, `toDiscoveredModels`) are gone.

Fingerprint - `x-stainless-os`/`arch`/`runtime-version` are derived from the
running process instead of claiming to be the captured Windows/x64/v24.14.1
host. `x-stainless-lang` and `x-stainless-package-version` stay pinned: they
identify the SDK, not the machine.

The reasoning capability is also emitted as `supportsThinking` so it survives
persistence (`normalizeDiscoveredModels` reads that key).
The telemetry is a separate capability from the protocol fixes: it makes
OmniRoute talk to a provider endpoint the operator did not ask for, carrying the
account identity. Per the maintainer's direction it now lives in its own PR
(cheaper-inference#18398), so this branch keeps only the protocol work: retries (I2), the catalog
merge (I4) and the runtime-derived fingerprint.

`reportTurn.ts`, `telemetry.ts`, `telemetryTransport.ts` and their tests are
removed from this branch (they are not on the release base — this PR introduced
them), the executor's `execute()` override goes away with them, and the env var
`OMNIROUTE_CODEBUDDY_TELEMETRY` is dropped from `.env.example` and
`docs/reference/ENVIRONMENT.md`. `check:env-doc-sync` is green with 677 code
references and 938/955 documented vars.

The opt-out documented here was also the wrong shape: it defaulted to ON. The
replacement is the opt-in feature flag `OMNIROUTE_CODEBUDDY_TELEMETRY_ENABLED`,
off by default, in cheaper-inference#18398.

The changelog fragment for this PR no longer claims the reporting, and the new
fragment points at cheaper-inference#18398.
The suite hard-coded the live capture's instant (`2026-10-26 10:17:44`) and
asserted that the shared parser resolves exactly that date. The parser returns
`null` for an instant that is no longer in the future
(`parseIsoDateTimeResetMs` → `if (waitMs <= 0) return null`), so the suite was a
time bomb: it passed on the capture date and started failing on 2026-10-27 with
`the prose date must be readable`, taking three tests with it (`actual:
undefined, expected: 1793009864000`).

The capture wording is still exercised verbatim; only the date is now derived
from the wall clock (the real ~9 h Free-plan window), so the tests assert the
behaviour rather than a calendar date. A new test pins the reason the suite has
to stay relative: an elapsed date must NOT be read as a wait, otherwise a stale
capture would freeze the account.

No production code changes — `parseIsoDateTimeResetMs` already refuses past
instants, which is the correct behaviour.
The `codebuddy-intl` executor mirrors the official CLI by reporting each turn to
CodeBuddy's own `POST /v2/report` and `POST /v1/traces`. This is a side channel
that carries the account identity to an endpoint the operator did not ask for,
so it is gated behind the `OMNIROUTE_CODEBUDDY_TELEMETRY_ENABLED` feature flag
and OFF by default. The flag is resolved through `isFeatureFlagEnabled` (DB
override > env > default), fails closed on any read error, and a failed flag
lookup reports nothing rather than guessing.

The events describe the real execution rather than the dispatch. `usage` and
the first-token instant only exist inside the SSE body
(`stream_options.include_usage`), so `tapResponseForObservation` wraps the
response as a pass-through: it forwards the exact same bytes to the client,
records the first token and the LAST usage block it sees, and closes the turn
from the stream's own `end`/`cancel`. Reporting at `return` time would have sent
an empty usage block and no first-token time — plausible, but false. A turn the
consumer abandons is reported as `cancelled`, not as an upstream failure.

The `machineId` is forwarded only when the connection actually carries one. The
previous fallback invented `omniroute-<platform>-<arch>`, which announced both
the proxy and the host it runs on; the capture of the real client shows a
per-host UUID, so there is nothing to synthesise. For the same reason the
`x-stainless-os` / `arch` / `runtime-version` fingerprint is derived from the
running process instead of claiming to be the captured Windows/x64 host
(`x-stainless-lang` and `package-version` stay pinned — they identify the SDK,
not the machine).

Split out of cheaper-inference#18098 at the maintainer's request: the protocol fixes and this
side channel have different review risk and different default, so they land
separately. See cheaper-inference#18398.
`server-owned-tool-loop-flag.test.ts` pins `FEATURE_FLAG_DEFINITIONS.length` as a
ratchet against silent flag loss. Adding `OMNIROUTE_CODEBUDDY_TELEMETRY_ENABLED`
takes it from 111 to 112, which the test caught in CI shard 1/8
(`✖ flag count matches updated expected value`).

Both assertions in the block are updated: the file pins the count twice, and
leaving either one at 111 keeps the suite red.
…try flag

`OMNIROUTE_CODEBUDDY_TELEMETRY_ENABLED` is one more definition, and three
separate ratchets pin that number:

- `server-owned-tool-loop-flag.test.ts` asserts
  `FEATURE_FLAG_DEFINITIONS.length` (pins it twice in the same block);
- `feature-flags-settings.test.ts` derives three assertions from
  `EXPECTED_FEATURE_FLAG_COUNT`;
- `feature-flags-doc-sync-static.test.ts` requires every flag to have a catalog
row in `docs/reference/FEATURE_FLAGS.md`, and the per-category heading plus
the total to match the definitions 1:1.

CI caught the first two (`✖ flag count matches updated expected value`,
`✖ has exactly 111 flag definitions`, `✖ returns all 111 flags`) and the doc
sync for the missing `Runtime` row. All four now agree on 112: the count is
bumped, the flag is documented under `Runtime`, and both totals in the doc
("112 flags across 6 categories", the sample comment) are updated.

The flag's row is written with the same column widths as the rest of the table
so the markdown stays aligned.
`feature-flags-doc-sync-static.test.ts` failed here at every flag ("flags
defined in featureFlagDefinitions.ts but absent from the doc: REQUIRE_API_KEY,
…") while the same suite is green in CI. The catalog is fine — the reader was
not.

The row pattern ends in `(.*)$` without the `m` flag, so `.` cannot consume a
`\r`. On a checkout with `core.autocrlf=true` every row ends in CRLF and the
match fails, `parseCatalog()` returns an empty list, and all 112 flags look
undocumented. Verified both ways against the same commit: the LF blob git
stores matches 112/112 rows, the CRLF working copy matches 0/112.

`(.*?)\r?$` makes the reader line-ending agnostic, which also removes a
platform-dependent difference between local runs and CI. The catalog content,
counts and the flag itself are unchanged.

Estimated code review effort: 5 (Critical) | ~90 minutes

Change: Feature

Merge Risk: Moderate · up to b670a

This adds CodeBuddy CLI alignment, live model discovery, and opt-in telemetry. One documentation heading count must be corrected so the test suite passes. A few small edge-case defects in 429 handling, telemetry accuracy, and retry IDs should be fixed before or soon after merge.

Security architecture risk: Low · up to b670a

The new reporting capability is disabled by default and targets the provider’s own endpoints. Catalog discovery retains existing authorization and outbound-request controls. No introduced security vulnerability was established, but credential-change handling and reporting’s effective egress behavior remain incompletely verified.

Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.

Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The new reporting exposure concerns CodeBuddy accounts routed through an installation that enables the flag. An ordinary turn can cause account-linked metadata to leave through the additional endpoints, but the inspected reporting caller does not accept a client-selected destination.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The new catalog branch retains centralized management authorization. It passes the provider token to a fixed provider destination using the existing guarded discovery fetch, whose preset disables redirects. These are substantive countercontrols to a caller-controlled SSRF or credential-redirection path.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — Authoritative CodeBuddy body reset hints can bypass the operator’s model-lockout duration cap. State ownership remains in shared services: model-lock branches retain connection-scoped keys, while the generic persistence branch writes rateLimitedUntil and recovery can clear it. The inspected evidence did not conclusively establish every CodeBuddy branch selection or partial-failure outcome.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Make reporting’s egress policy explicit across stream completion and cancellation, including proxy inheritance and redirect restrictions. Global fetch is patched to support ambient proxy context, so its use alone does not prove a bypass; the remaining question is whether the required account context survives into every reporting callback.
  • proposed — Explicitly partition or invalidate the account-specific catalog cache when a connection is reauthenticated to a different external account. Credential replacement can preserve the connection ID; cache-transition handling was not fully established, so this is a lifecycle-hardening proposal rather than a verified cross-account disclosure.

| `OMNIROUTE_ISSUE_AGENT_TIMEOUT_MS` | _(unset)_ | `src/lib/issueAgent/execution.ts` | Timeout (ms) for a single Issue Agent recorded-triage run. Clamped to an internal maximum; falls back to the built-in default when unset or invalid. |
| `OMNIROUTE_CONTEXT` | _(active context)_ | `bin/cli/program.mjs`, `bin/cli/api.mjs` | CLI remote-mode context/profile for `omniroute` commands; overrides the active context in the local contexts store. Equivalent to `--context <name>`. |
| `OMNIROUTE_CONTEXT_KEYCHAIN_DISABLED` | `0` | `bin/cli/contexts.mjs` | Disable the optional `keytar` OS-keychain backend for CLI context credentials. When enabled, credentials remain in `config.json` mode `0600` and the CLI emits a one-time fallback warning; intended for deliberate headless/container operation. |
| `CODEBUDDY_TELEMETRY_ENABLED` | `false` | `open-sse/executors/codebuddy-intl/reportTurn.ts` | Outbound turn telemetry for the `codebuddy-intl` executor, which mirrors the official CLI by reporting to CodeBuddy's `POST /v2/report` and `POST /v1/traces` with the real request ids, timings and token usage. Non-blocking side channel; never affects the chat response. **OFF by default**: it makes OmniRoute speak to a provider endpoint the operator did not ask for, carrying the account identity. This is a feature flag, so a DB override wins over the env var. Set to `1`, `true`, `on` or `yes` to enable. |

| `QUOTA_WINDOW_BOUNDED_PARK` | boolean | `false` | | Let the per-window quota policy (session/weekly thresholds used by account selection) honour the bounded exhaustion park (#17000): once the capped park deadline has passed, or the cached observation is older than the park cap, the window stops excluding the account until a fresh quota fetch. Off by default: a cached window keeps blocking on its last reported percentage until its own reset time. |
| `IMAGE_GENERATION_LONG_JOBS` | boolean | `false` | | For OpenAI-compatible image generation (#16260): use the connection timeout (`providerSpecificData.timeoutMs`), else the central upstream fetch timeout (`FETCH_TIMEOUT_MS` → `REQUEST_TIMEOUT_MS` → default 600 s) instead of the fixed 120 s image budget; answer 499 when the caller cancels; let the Playground receive long image jobs as an SSE stream with keepalive heartbeats. Off by default: the fixed budget applies and caller cancellation is not propagated. The deadline covering the response body read is always on. |

Off by default: `max` stays offered and forwarded, as a live AgentService/Run probe accepted it. |

Update the Runtime category count.

This row raises the Runtime count to 55, but the heading at Line 122 still says 54. The category-count assertion in tests/unit/feature-flags-doc-sync-static.test.ts fails. Update the heading to 55. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Keep main-turn retry correlation consistent.

On a retry, deriveRetryContext creates a new conversation request ID but keeps the root ID. This can make X-Conversation-Request-ID differ from X-Root-Request-ID and the baggage, contrary to the documented main-turn invariant.

Align the retry correlation fields and update the tests to match the chosen identity contract. The retry tests currently expect new IDs, while the deriveRetryContext docstring says to retain them.

Reject reset values outside the Date range.

A large Retry-After or body reset can be marked authoritative. parseError then throws a RangeError when it formats the reset. Reject values outside the Date range without shortening valid provider reset dates.

Fix the dead completion_thinking_tokens fallback.

toNumber returns 0 for a missing value. mapReportCacheMetrics and the execute test confirm this: the test expects reasoningTokens: 0 when no reasoning field exists. As a result, toNumber(details.reasoning_tokens) is never nullish, and ?? toNumber(usage.completion_thinking_tokens) never runs.

Some streams report only completion_thinking_tokens. For those streams, the report sends reasoningTokens: 0 instead of the real count. Check whether the field is present before you convert it.

Release the telemetry response body.

postJson reads only response.ok and response.status. It never consumes or cancels the response body. Under Node's undici-based fetch, an unread body holds its connection until garbage collection. When telemetry is on, every turn sends two of these fire-and-forget requests, so idle sockets can build up under load. Cancel the body after you read the status.

Update postJson to cancel the response body after reading the response status,
tolerating cancellation failure so it does not change the returned ok and status
values.

Pass refresh through to the catalog cache.

The route reads refresh at Line 181 and uses it to skip the DB-cached discovery models. discoverCodeBuddyIntlModels still calls fetchCodeBuddyCatalog with the default 30-minute in-memory TTL, keyed by connectionId. A request with ?refresh=true therefore returns the in-memory catalog for up to 30 minutes. The route then adds the warning "Served from the cached CodeBuddy catalog". An operator cannot force a live /v3/config fetch.

ttlMs: 0 makes the cache check now - fetchedAtMs < ttlMs fail, so the fetch goes upstream. A successful fetch still refreshes the cache entry.

Review comment at @src/app/api/providers/[id]/models/route.ts at line 729:
Update the CodeBuddy catalog fetch in discoverCodeBuddyIntlModels to pass a zero
TTL when refresh is true, bypassing the in-memory cache while still allowing
successful results to refresh it. Preserve the default TTL for non-refresh
requests and the existing accountKey behavior.

Enable the telemetry flag so that this test can fail.

reportTurn returns at once when CODEBUDDY_TELEMETRY_ENABLED is off. This test never sets the flag. As a result, calls stays empty even if someone removes the if (op) guard in execute(). The assertion therefore does not cover the "no operation, no report" guard it describes. Set the flag for the test duration and restore it in finally.

Proposed fix

+import { CODEBUDDY_TELEMETRY_FLAG } from "../../open-sse/executors/codebuddy-intl/reportTurn.ts";

   const calls: string[] = [];
+  const previousFlag = process.env[CODEBUDDY_TELEMETRY_FLAG];

+    if (previousFlag === undefined) delete process.env[CODEBUDDY_TELEMETRY_FLAG];
+    else process.env[CODEBUDDY_TELEMETRY_FLAG] = previousFlag;
   }

As per path instructions: "Flag weakened or removed assertions and skipped tests that only exist to make CI green."

Update the “a request that never got its correlation ids reports nothing” test
so telemetry is enabled during the assertion; otherwise reportTurn may return
early and the test will not verify execute’s no-operation guard. Save the prior
CODEBUDDY_TELEMETRY_FLAG value, enable it for the test, and restore or delete it
in the existing finally block alongside restoring globalThis.fetch.
