It appears to be problem with preview of psd files.

PSD files randomly have problems with displaying layers and it looks like on attached files. Also it doesn't seem to be related to specific version of Photoshop. One file from the same version has problem when the other doesn't. Also problem doesn't seem to be related to sheer amount of layers that the file has. Some files with around 80 layers have problems while others with similar amount of layers are fine.
Sometime it appears like I'm seeing things that are not in the file anymore, but that layer could probably have existed in the past.
I'm using v. 3.0.1 and OIT plugin for psd open files in wrong scale or doesn't open them at all.

hi

Seer is using this repo to read PSD: https://github.com/roniemartinez/libqpsd

image

Since it has not been fixed for years, I am thinking about moving to other repo as a backend for PSD.

Are you willing to help for testing if I changed the backend?

Assuming you are running Seer not from Microssoft Store.

  1. quit Seer
  2. open your installation folder, go to Seer/imageformats
  3. replace the qpsd.dll with the new one
  4. start Seer
