Last commit was 2 years ago, last release was 3 years ago.
Since this project is very important to the python ecosystem, would you please transfer ownership to an entity willing to maintain it?

`flaky` project seems to be unmaintained (see box/flaky#192).
`pytest-rerunfailures` seems to be maintained under `pytest-dev`
and tests 5 minor releases of pytest.

Note that this plugin is not compatible with `flaky` plugin.
You will have to uninstall it if it exists.

* Revert "limit pytest version to <8.1 (#10334)"

This reverts commit bc95b65.

* replace flaky with pytest-rerunfailures

`flaky` project seems to be unmaintained (see box/flaky#192).
`pytest-rerunfailures` seems to be maintained under `pytest-dev`
and tests 5 minor releases of pytest.

Note that this plugin is not compatible with `flaky` plugin.
You will have to uninstall it if it exists.

while there has not been a feature, just a couple housekeeping commits in the past 9 months, when a severe issue with new pytest release arose, it was resolved within ten days of reporting.

I wouldn't call it dead, but definitely in maintenance stage of its life-cycle ;)
