UEFI Secure Boot on Hyper‐V

Debian 10 Buster supports UEFI Secure Boot.

UEFI and Secure Boot is available on Hyper-V Generation 2 (but not on Generation 1) virtual machines.

In the Hyper-V virtual machine settings, set the Secure Boot template to 'Microsoft UEFI Certificate Authority'. See

Note that --no-install-recommends flag should not be used, since grub-efi-amd64-bin recommends grub-efi-amd64-signed, which contains the binaries signed by Debian UEFI CA and is required for Secure Boot.
