Add UI for creating/editing tools and mapping to buttons and/or maybe keys #110
Comments
The ppInk UI is really great too, maybe take inspiration from that |
I just wanted something quick and dirty for myself using gromit-mpx(the only real linux option right now). I made gromit-mpx-gui. It doesn't have that simple gromit-mpx philosophy with it, but it does make a gui out of gromit-mpx that is very usable. Check it out if you want. |
Exciting! I tried it (had to comment out some kpathsea include to get in building), but the UI is stuck at the right screen edge and cannot be moved (using GNOME on Wayland btw): |
I wish Gromit-MPX evolves in that direction with a small floating UI, like E-Pointer on MacOS https://apps.apple.com/us/app/e-pointer/id1626223968?mt=12 |
This means having a graphical tool editor (setting pen/eraser/whatever and colour and thickness, opacity, etc) and a graphical mapping editor (e.g. "mouse button 1 together with Shift triggers tool 2"). The manual
gromit-mpx.cfg
file editing will go away.stop-gap solution to make finding and editing config easier
