I created an event from other devices (for instance, Vivaldi on PC and Google Calendar on another Android device) and syncing with DAVx5 makes synced events marked as "Public" even if event privacy is not set. (privacy not checked on Thunderbird 128.x) DAVx5 version: 4.4.3.2-gplay Edit: by "privacy", I meant "visibility". |

If you mean "privacy / classification", see here: https://manual.davx5.com/technical_information.html#event-classification PUBLIC is the default value in iCalendar, if it's not specified. So there is no "no value" in iCalendar, it's then automatically PUBLIC. So if you need anything else then PUBLIC, you have to set it explicitly. |

Currently "no value" is mapped to "public" to clearly indicate that an event without classification is public. Users who see "Default" could think the classification depends on some other thing, but it's actually public.
We could easily change it in DAVx5 so that no classification is mapped to
Events.ACCESS_DEFAULT
, which would show up as "Default" in your calendar app. However in CalDAV no value is still the same asCLASS:PUBLIC
, so the server may at any time switch "public" with "default", and it means the same thing. Also users could think there is a meaningful difference between "default" and "public", but in CalDAV, there is no difference between tho…
