fix(lockfile): write libc on new npm lock entries only when the project's npm does - #1874
Adding a package that declares libc (for example @rollup/rollup-linux-x64-gnu) always wrote "libc": [...] on its new npm lockfile entry. npm only started writing that field in 11.11.0, and older npm strips it on the next write, so teammates on npm 10 or 11.6 got lockfile churn after every aube add. npm ci accepts both shapes.
A new entry now gets libc only when the project's npm would write it:
any entry in the existing package-lock.json already has libc, or
the root packageManager is npm@11.11.0 or later.
Otherwise it is omitted. Entries already in the lockfile keep whatever they had.
{ "packageManager": "npm@11.6.2" }
With this manifest, aube add @rollup/rollup-linux-x64-gnu no longer adds libc to the lockfile; with npm@11.20.0 it does.
Based on the rule proposed in the discussion (mwolson#7).
Tests cover each branch plus existing entries; cargo test -p aube-lockfile and clippy pass. Not run against real npm here.
npm lockfiles now preserve nonempty libc metadata for existing package entries. Existing entries without this metadata remain without it, including when adding an alias of the same package.
New package entries include libc metadata when the project specifies npm 11.11.0 or later. Older or unspecified npm versions and pnpm omit the metadata by default.
The npm lockfile writer now determines whether to serialize package libc metadata from the prior lockfile and the root manifest’s packageManager value. Tests cover existing entries, new entries, and npm version thresholds.
The writer checks prior lockfile entries and the root packageManager pin to decide whether to retain or add libc. If the prior lockfile cannot be read or parsed, it treats prior entries as unknown.
Apply and test libc serialization crates/aube-lockfile/src/npm/write.rs, crates/aube-lockfile/src/npm/tests.rs
Regular and directory-target package entries use the decision rule. Tests cover existing libc values, npm 11.11.0 and later, older npm versions, other package managers, and missing package-manager values.
Some newly added lockfile entries can omit libc despite the project’s npm setting. Correct entry matching before merging, or accept this bounded lockfile-output risk.

Full details: Title check
Explanation
The title matches the main change. The PR changes the npm lockfile writer so that new entries emit a libc field only when the project's npm version pin is 11.11.0 or later, or when an existing lockfile entry already has libc. The raw summary and PR objectives both describe this gating logic, and the title states it directly. The title is 82 characters, which is slightly over a typical short title length, but it stays a single clear sentence in conventional-commit form and names the affected component (lockfile) and the behavior.

Track libc by emitted install path.
When two parents require the same name@version while a different version occupies the root slot, build_hoist_tree can emit both node_modules/a/node_modules/c and node_modules/b/node_modules/c. PriorLibc marks both paths as existing because it keys entries only by name@version. The second path can therefore omit libc, even when npm@11.11.0+ or another prior entry enables write_new.

Pass the emitted install_path to the regular package call, and pass the directory target path to the directory-package call.

Update PriorLibc to track known and libc-bearing entries by install path rather
than name@version, and change decider to accept the emitted install path
alongside each LockedPackage. Pass the regular package’s install path and the
directory target path at their respective call sites so duplicate name@version
packages at different paths are evaluated independently.
