Thanks @huaxingao! The commit history look right to me. Thanks for your admirable patience and diligence here. Since the previous change was already approved by a few people and the difference between that change and this is some more intermediate 3.5 changes which were simply copied over to 4.0 with no modification, I think we'd be good to merge after checks pass.
