//! `interpolation="direct"` instead uses raw linear interpolation between

The KV-first fallback changes direct-prefill answers that were previously unsupported. The required golden and parity evidence for those answers is missing.

Before this change, a query without a token-first KV bracket returned an error. Line 635 now returns an interpolated latency for some of these queries. The path instructions treat a change in interpolation or fallback ordering as a change in numerical behavior. The PR reports parity runs, but they ran before the final Python fix. The PR also does not show an append-only pinned parity case or an explained golden diff for the newly supported queries. The PR reports artificial cross-graph/eager cases with 24.82–60.98% error. Those are cases where the token axis crosses a capture-regime boundary. Decode stays inside one inferred regime (direct_decode_rungs). The KV-first token bracket has no regime gate, so it can blend measurements taken from different execution graphs.

Required changes:

  • Add an engine-step parity case pinned to the fallback, or attach an explained golden diff.
  • Gate the token bracket so it cannot cross a capture-regime boundary, or document why crossing a regime is acceptable here.

As per path instructions: "Require an explained before/after golden diff or hand-derived oracle evidence for changed answers."

Review comment at @crates/core/src/perfmodel/operators/fpm_forward.rs at line
635:
Update resolve_direct_prefill_kv_first so its token bracket cannot interpolate
across a capture-regime boundary, matching the regime safety used by
direct_decode_rungs. Add an engine-step parity case pinned to this fallback or
provide an explained before/after golden diff or hand-derived oracle for the
newly supported answers.
